870P Questing.

Trying to decide between a couple of police trade-ins, an old, beat up one for $285, and one that's recent manufacture (not sure how old), NIB, for about $550. Can anyone tell me how the QA on the guns leaving the factory lately is? I keep hearing it went to hell after Freedom Group took over, but I don't have any personal experience.

It's run just fine. Not sure how the new ones are, but mine was in great shape when I bought it, carried more than shot for sure. I'd just get the used one. Plenty of parts out there if you need to do something to it.

The new 870's are garbage. Freedom group ruined a decent shotgun by cutting corners. I'd go with the old one or if shopping for a new pump gun the Benelli Supernova is the best bargain out there.
