Looks like the first batch went to Rainier Arms, but they're sold out. Next batch in a few weeks.

Description:

When designing our newest line to our Fortis family of products, we spent a lot of time thinking about the overall design and function of our butt stock. Lightweight? Of course. We helped start the change in the industry with our lightweight designs - but we also like our products to be robust and withstand the abuse we throw at it. Form as well as function each and every product we introduce - that's Fortis.

Introducing our newest part - our aluminum buttstock, the Fortis LA™. It's an all aluminum Lever Action (LA) stock that utilizes mil-spec buffer tubes. That's right - slip off the plastic stock and upgrade your rifle immediately. The lever action is what clamps down onto the buffer tube so there's no rattle or movement and our patent pending design is one of a kind.

Features:

Patent Pending Lever Action design clamps down onto standard milspec buffer tube. This eliminates any rattle or movement
Real Carbon Fiber cheek piece
Slim design, strength by design
3 QD sockets for various needs
Easily removes off the buffer tube with no additional tools needed
Material: Aircraft Grade 6061-T6 Aluminum
Finish: Military Specification Type III Hard Coat Anodized
Fits standard milspec buffer tubes (recommend purchasing our bundle)
Weight - 15.8oz!

Fit & Finish it great, typical Fortis quality. It's sturdy as hell. I'm hoping to work on a build this week. The combined MSRP for the just the barrel and stock is $1,236! LOL!

Man, 4 beans for a stock? Ouch. Is that a proof barrel?

daniel, random question.

What do you think about the box the stock came in? Had lunch with Paul from Fortis last week, and he was telling me how they spent a ton of money designing and manufacturing the box. Adds $10-12 to the cost of the product. It will obviously go down once design costs have been recouped, but they weren't comfortable throwing such an expensive item in a plastic bag with a sticker.

Interesting question UW. I've noticed that some of the boxes I've received parts and other things in, look like they should be holding several carets of diamonds. I thought it was just a waste, and just raised my costs. But after reading your post, it makes perfect sense.

Yes, it's a PR barrel. Let's talk real numbers. [emoji3]

I mentioned the MSRP total of $1,236 for the stock and barrel. Now let's talk about actual $$$ spent.

- the stock was introduced at a $70 discount, so it was only $325. I have a couple of Magpul PRS stocks, and an LMT DMR556. If this stock performs in its role as well as they do in theirs, then it's worth the cash. Time will tell.

- the Proof Research barrel cost me a whopping $80 in a raffle. I have plenty of high end 5.56 barrels (Lilja) on several ARs, and only have this one because it was a super-cheap win. But that does not mean that I don't appreciate it - I'm excited to get it incorporated into this build.

More to follow. I'm going to make this as "Fortis" as possible, and still make it functional for my needs.

GREAT question! I have bought quite a bit of Fortis equipment. Their quality keeps me coming back, for sure.

I was surprised by the LA Stock's boxing. I get the thought process - and from an experiential standpoint - it fit the product. That said, I would rather saved $8-10.

I don't know if this is too disparate of an example, but my $650 Lilja 308 barrel came in exactly the same type of packaging as my $230 Ballistic Advantage 308 barrel. I was happy with both because they did their jobs.

Really nice! Our rifles will look somewhat similar. I have a 14" Night MLok rail that I am pairing with my LA stock. Also considering other Fortis accessories.

Nice. That's about as much fortis as you can get. Which is why if "had" to go on that rifle.

Just enlarged the photo - you have a great attention to detail. Yep, that is a Fortis sales sample rifle, for sure! [emoji3]

Noticed that the barrel is dimpled - that is a sharp look. Who manufactured that barrel? I'm going with a Proof barrel that I won in a raffle, but I'm digging your build. Nice.
