Hello everyone,

I'm a long time reader/first time poster that doesn't know much about stocks. I have a Charles Daly M4LE and I believe it has a Milspec receiver extension.

I assume that if I were to buy a Milspec Magpul CTR, that the installation would be pretty simple.

I do see quite a few VLTOR stock kits that include a replacement receiver extension (Buffer tube), but in what situation would I need one?

Are the kits with the replacement receiver extensions specifically for rifles that are equipped with a Commercial receiver extension?

The above thread shows a few different stock options, and also illustrates how to pull a stock off and replace it with another one.

With your D-M4LE you will want to stick with the Mil-Spec sized stocks.

You only need a stock and not the entire kit. Make sure as Stickman pointed out, you buy one that's MILSPEC.

As far as the entire kits, they are mainly for people who are building up stripped lowers.
