Just found out yesterday that I'll be in Madison Wisconsin the last week of September for some work stuff. Never been, anyone have any knowledge of the area? Just looking mainly to explore. I'm not into nightlife and stuff. I'm mainly looking for stuff to see before the sun goes down and maybe get something cool for the kids. Oh yeah, and good food.

Brett Fah-Vray is the father of every child in Madison. Except for Barce fants (Goo Barce!) [:D]
For hot babes, this is your choice:

Hint: When not made up for picture takin', both have more facial hair than a green beret that's been in the backcountry for 2 years.
Enjoy your stay!

Hahaha! I've read some, and that sounds accurate. Seeing as how I'm flying into a regional airport, I expect I'm not going see much more than I see at home.

Pills and meth seemed popular when I passed through Milwaukee

I used to live in Madison - left there about a decade ago. It's a fun town, the locals love it, but it's a bastion of leftist idiocy. Downtown, The Great Dane is an icon of a bar. Essen House is also great if you like German food. Walk State Street which connects the State Capital with the University. The muffin tops should be under cover by late September. THE thing to do is hang out at The Terrace, but you are supposed to be a member of the Student union to buy beer. However, they don't exactly put a lot of effort into verifying that, as I recall.
If you like checking out nice homes and residential areas, explore the area near UW towards the arboretum south of Monroe St. lots of beautiful homes built in the '20s.
If you have time for a day trip, go out to Spring Green to visit Taliesen, the estate of Frank Lloyd Wright. There are a few of his designs around Madison, too, if that is your thing.
Oh, and make sure you eat some fried cheese curds and get some Spotted Cow beer.
