Here we go. The rattle can requirement seems like it'll be a tough one to meet. Does Krylon have sand in high temp?

Read this a couple of weeks ago, somewhere on the 'net. Also, that they want to replace the M4 also. Maybe it's time to let the M16/CAR/M4 to rest? Wish I had the contracts for the weapons and suppressors. Have to be worth a fortune.[:D]

... there's some interesting stuff going on with the USMC RFI for their Marksmanship Technology Demonstration this year. Whish the Army would listen as much as the Marine Corps and their Marines.

There are about 100,000 Army Infantrymen out there, and 21,000 Marine Infantrymen. That's a LOT more money needed right off the bat.

Plus, Marines have different Infantry specialties, like Rifleman, Assaultman, Machine Gunner, etc etc, whereas the Army has two: You're either mortars or you're not. The Marines could probably pare down the overall required number based on specialty...the Army would have a harder time doing that.
