She did approximately 95% of the work. My friend handed her the book and told her to ask questions. She did very well. She didn’t ask for that much help. It’s a nice build with BA barrel and LPK, Aero upper & ALG 10” handguard. I traded an extra muzzle break to a friend to get the lower. We are both taking a carbine class in two weeks. :) https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171030/65e10d5b6af25b32ff97f04e3cd27fc0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171030/d1b01b62778e9a46621a65c5a8e822a9.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171030/9d26d52373dfc7157faf7a9ca45be72c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171030/0436f44b0cb9f0e1e1086ffa42349b98.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171030/79dae5ef983ade38b5f57727fa2c3c8f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171030/a42392df660b730a37bd7f4f854cbea9.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171030/1fa70b7c30b131bc9917e906fb76abd1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171030/c15fe9e62470c087742bbca2432437a6.jpg

Thanks, Alamo. She’s an amazing young lady. She already wants to build another one. [emoji41] We were at a friend’s house near Crockett.

Now that's a million dollar smile! I did the same with my son about a year ago. Great thread brother!! You taught her well, notice the trigger finger placement.

Awesome job, dad!

Once BRD gets a hold of you, it won't let you go.

That kicks so much ass. I can't wait until my little one is old enough to build his own.

I like that shop. Hoping to expand mine with table, band and mitre saws next year, as well as a floor standing drill press. Got some final renovations to complete and then I can start laying it out and building work stations. I'm planning on taking on more guitar repair work when (if) I retire and hope to do some gun stuff on the other side.

Glad to see the next generation doing something other than desecrating flags and taking a knee to further their school teachers leftist agenda's. I take comfort in seeing her interest and carrying on tradition. Once you get her really going, you might need a second mortgage.[:D]

Hope you get to do all that. My friend does have quite a nice shop. What kind of repair work to you do on guitars. Have you built any guitars.

Thanks. She’s amazing. She’s earned several presidential service awards and volunteers at a Christian Camp in the summer. She teaches sewing and pet-sits to earn money. She paid for her own parts, other than the lower. I forgot to mention that the Camp is run by Dustin Ellermann. He won season 3 of Top Shot. She challenged him to a 1 vs 1 archery tag match and gave him a run for his money.

This is awesome. Parenting.......you're doing it right! [:D]

I can't wait to do this with my daughter and son someday. I already purchased a group of four consecutively numbered Anderson lowers a couple years ago for each member in my family. I wanted to make sure that my children would always have their right to own an AR-15 intact. My wife put hers together with minimal assistance. I built mine up as a pistol/truck gun and the kids lowers will hang out in the safe for another decade until they old enough. I have purchased a couple other parts for the kids builds as deals present themselves but I intend on letting them select their own handguards, grips and stock. I already have a couple nitride coated Toolcrafts BCGs ($65 ea) and CMMG LPKs ($25 ea minus grip and trigger). I hope to acquire a couple Anderson upper receivers this black friday as I'm sure there will be some deals.
