Gemtech suppressed carrier vs. the Bootleg adjustable carrier. Anyone have both? Which is better? Opinions?

I don't know but I google the Bootleg and that thing is on sale for $139 bucks. I don't know if the Gemtech can touch that at that price.

I believe the gemtech is full auto rated. Bootleg, Semi-auto. On M4C, the gemtech is the recommended one.

I don't own the Gemtech, but I've used it, I'm impressed.

No opinion on the bootleg.

I have two gemtechs, shoot them full auto a lot. They work well.

And as mentioned, the bootleg is not full auto rated. Yuck.

Gemtech has two positions Suppressed and Unsuppressed and is rated for FA, requires you to remove it from the upper to change positions (I prefer this).

Bootleg has four positions to help dial in a suppressed upper based on barrel length, bullet, and suppressor, "not full auto rated" and does not require you to remove it from the upper to change positions.

I've had the SBC since it was released and had a few dealings with bootleg in terms of their adjustable carrier, I didn't like the idea then, I do not like it now (4 positions? not full auto? adjustable on the fly?)

The SBC is a miracle worker for a short suppressed AR. I ran it in various uppers from 8" to 16" suppressed. You get about 1500 rounds before you need to clean it due to gas to face. But before that it's like shooting a normal rifle, not even a puff.

I'd recommend the SBC.

Well that's all pretty unanimous. Gemtech it'll be.

Thanks guys!
