As usual their reticules are not that desirable....disappointed.

Heh.

Apparently they are the tits. Not sure when the order will be fulfilled, but got one of each. I plan to shoot them on dedicated guns for awhile.

This is the worst best news I've heard. I'll start saving and get one in five or so years. Any MSRP? Looks not much bigger than their 1-4

Damn! I wish those had come out before I bought my Sig 1X6. I love the Sig Tango 6, and think the reticules are much more my speed on the Tango, but I'd almost give that up for the 1X8X24. That extra 2X would really make a difference for "bourbon aged" old eyes.;)

Just noticed the NX8 has a $1715 price tag, High but not as high as I expected.

Same size and weight as the 1-4x24, so I think that a big win-win. Also the price is on par with other optics in their lineup.

T Rex,
I'd bet their will some fairly discounted prices on them after Christmas. Because they're so new, I might be wrong, but I have a feeling their will be..

I believe these aren't even rolling out to the general public until after SHOT.

You can barely get decent consumer discounts on old NF optics. Doubt you'll see any on this for awhile.

Discounts for the lucky secondary market buyer. But I do plan to pick up the NX8 in 2018. Been holding back buying another optic in anticipation of this loooong-awaited reveal.

The release says its daylight bright. We’ll see about that. It’s pointless, for me, if the battery life sucks because I never remember to turn it off.

Either way between this and a Vortex razor 1-6 that has a 1/4 weight reduction (E model) I'm pretty excited for optics this year. Better get to selling shit off though

Benefits to this over the Trijicon 1-8?

I was thinking about a PSTII 1-6x but I really want that extra little bit of magnification.

I have a Trijicon 1-8, the Trijicon is longer and heavier than this is going to be.

I have personally handled the ATACR 1-8, almost a year ago. It is amazing. The trijicon 1-8 is a piece of junk, by comparison. Of course, we're talking about two completely different price points.

I have not seen or touched the NX8, so no comment, other than I will own both of these optics in the near future. [:D]

It’s only an extra $500....when you’re already spending $1200 I guess I’m of the mind that the expense can be spared.

The weight is an issue: 25oz (Trijicon) vs 17oz (NF). It’s one of the reasons I’m looking for a “daily duty” scope to relegate my higher magnification scope to load testing...same weight as the Trijicon. I realize the PST II is in a different class entirely but it’s about the least expensive low to mid optic with halfway decent glass I’ve found.

I need to figure out if the extra 2x is worth it or if I should pick up an 2.5-10x (the x32 NF are still out there and priced around what the 1-8 Trijicon is and 6oz lighter)

If you sell it let me know!

They’re great little scopes....I’ll put it on my .308 and make it a scout rifle

That EuroOptic price is pretty epic for the ATACR. I'm going to try and remember to send an email to NF when I get back to work this week and see if they have .mil pricing yet.

No complaints other then it’s heavy and outdated..but works good..
Just need some more magnification when shooting groups etc... can’t see tiny bug holes past 50yds it seems..

Ordered an ATACR from NF. Initially was told F1 scopes are backed up 90-120 days, but then today the email said it should be within 90 days. In the meantime, hopefully some people at SHOT can take more reticle photos.

A friend of mine who is much more into precision shooting and long range hunting recently got an ATACR. That thing is a BEAST! Great optic, but Lordy it's heavy!Fortunately, it's mission is bench, or tripod shooting!

I think we're talking about a different ATACR. There are many models using the ATACR glass. I'm just talking about their new 1-8.

I do have an ATACR 4-16 and it's pretty awesome.
