As most of you guys know, we don't make things for looks. The AA (All Angles) concept was started at WEVO, when folks asked about using dimples for our ABC/R.
After researching the subject, we concluded properly formed dimples on a control surface, offer tangible and perceivable benefits. More info on the AA surface here http://www.forwardcontrolsdesign.com/ABCR-AA_ep_51-1.html
For a long time, we resisted calls to make our EMR and EMR-C with a dimpled surface. The back story on why we're doing it now has to do with the way we've successfully mastered the dimpled surface, to the point it exceeds the friction/traction afforded by horizontal serrations, which is the reason the AA surface has now made its way to the LDFA and EMR family (EMR as a category consists of EMR, EMR-C and EMR-A).
We made EMR-AA and EMR-C-AA from 17-4, and they're QPQ coated black. The slight curve is still there, the are two large lightening cuts under the button to cut down weight, invisible once it's installed.
