Like the title says, I found some Hornady 6.5 CM brass that had been converted to something larger. It’s not .308; the neck diameter looks to be .30 cal but the case itself is different than a .308. Anyone ID this?

Can you measure the ID of the case mouth of the various cases?

Looks like it could be a 7mm CM case. I have heard off and on about people trying that out.

Or did they open it up to the parent case of .30 TC?

I wish I could find 224 Valkyrie brass like I can find this Hornady match 6.5 Creedmoor. It’s almost as common as .308 at the range now

7MM-08

That was my guess also.

I wouldn’t be leaving that brass behind unless i had a ton Of reloads on it

That Hornady brass is pretty much shit. So soft you get 2-3 reloads and its done.

Where are you finding info on this?

Q posted this numbers on Instagram recently.

Q says this is still in R&D state and haven’t revealed much beyond this.

Oh, I was thinking a .338 Lapua rival when I saw the 8.6 Creedmoor. Sounds like this more or less an improved .338 Federal.

Bigger version of the 300BK.

Bigger version of the 300BK.

It’s really not. It’s nothing but a .338 Federal with a sharper shoulder. Don’t fall for the Q hype. They basically did a Ackley Improved .338 Federal. They were far from the first to play with subsonic .338 Federals.
