JCW (Joint Castle nut Wrench) is a dedicated castle nut wrench for the AR family rifles. Billet machined from 4140 steel, heat treated and black oxide coated, it is a heavy duty castle nut wrench designed to be used with a torque wrench.

In the above picture, you can see our own ESF (End point, Sling adapter, Forward Controls) masked one of the three wrench notches, all of which would be required for a conventional 3 lug wrench to torque the castle nut. JCW has a 3 lug conventional wrench on one side, and a 2 lug wrench (shown in the picture) for just such circumstances. This can happen with almost all end plates with QD sling adapters with side facing sockets, not just ESF, which happens to have rather tall socket housing, its function is to act as a backstop to prevent the ESF from bending further, should bending from excessive pressure take place.
