I don't think I've seen these posted here. Hogue has some new AR items. First off is a Knurled Aluminum FF tube. They come in 3 lengths. MSRP has been set at $59.95 or $69.95 for the tube and grip.

I tend to like most Hogue products but I am not a huge fan of that rail. Unless I'm missing something it appears to not have the ability to mount anything to it! I suppose if you just wanted a nice free float rail to go plinking and didn't need to mount anything it would offer up a cheap solution!

Well... for one, its not a rail system. Nor is it advertised as such. Its a free float tube. There are a number of people out there who don't need to mount every accessory under the sun to their weapon. A number of free float tubes already exist. This one from Hogue seems to be like all the others aside from basic aesthetics.

For the price, it'd be a good option for bench rest or varmint guns. I would have liked to see a provision for mounting a harris bipod to the tube. Looks like it'd be up to the end user to drill and tap the tube for a sling swivel.
