Assuming that Glock can grease the wheels properly, these should be awesome for residents of restricted states as long as they become available for purchase. Not sure CA residents will get any more options on the roster soon though.

Also, needs more stipple.

I'm definitely getting a 43X, 45, and Gen 5 19 this year.

Wow. Had I not just gotten a Gen 5 G17, that 48 would gave been a serious contender for me.

And BC, check your PM's/email man!

I've been eyeing a G43 or P365, as I just can't conceal a 19 in the summer. Can someone boil down all these new model numbers? So is a 43X a 43 with a 19-ish grip?

I just pre-ordered a G48 from my local blue line dealer. Pretty sure that will become my new daily carry, at least during the cooler months. Summer t-shirt & shorts will prob still be the 42.

The 43X and 48 have the same frame. A 43X/48 thickness wise will be about midway between a G43 and a G19 in width, so yes-ish to your question.

Ah, Glock! That's twice in a row! They came out with the G45 soon after I picked up a Glock 17 Gen5, and my wife just got me a G43 for Christmas. The 43X looks like it would work well for me, but the G43 is a nice little package.

Well somewhat, it's still slimmer than a 19 grip, but has a 10 round vs 6/7 round stack on the standard 43.

Comparison with G19 width.

I'm hangin' for the 22 round grip G49! No more pesky mag swaps in the middle of a gun fight!

They’ll get to it. They’ve just got a bunch of other designs to sell us before then. [BD]

Man, I got thiiiiiiiis close to having my 17 chopped. Seraph holster is legit though, conceals without the chop.

Although I'm sure there's a market, I doubt it's more than a blip on the radar.

Although I'm sure there's a market, I doubt it's more than a blip on the radar.

They are already moving towards offering them. They consolidated the Gen5 17/19 locking block design, so all they need to do to start producing a 19L is just produce longer 19 slide.

But, as much as people complain about Glock not giving them one yet, there will be plenty of complaints when it happens anyway.

imma buy a 48.

Not because I need one but because it's going to be a go to for a lot of 10rnd mag limit states

I'm less worried about grip width and more about length. Looking at fledge's post, the 43 may be the best bet (or 365).

Apparently the 43X & 43 use slides that are identical...which *should* mean that when my 48 arrives, I can swap out the slide from my 43, and make a franken43x, AND a longslide 43!!

But seriously, I'm hoping that the 48 is a test platform for a similar pistol in .357sig or .45. I'd buy & carry a single stack commander sized .45 glock in a heartbeat!

I'm hoping they offer the Stainless slides in other models.

Just dont show this to my wife. She had a gleem in her eye when she held the 43x but said, "If it only had a black slide"...

I thought it was generally men hiding their gun purchases from their wives... not the other way around.

There's sufficient room in the 43X/48 magwell that a CZ75 compact mag will fit and work with slight mods, apparently. More importantly though, there's a 15-round flush fit metal mag being developed for the 43X/48!

I wanted a p365, (durability issues aside) until this mag was announced. G19 capacity in the 48 frame? I’m in.

I visited these two models at the local shop and they seem to be pretty ok contenders for an EDC gun.

I kind.of was thinking about one or the other for that purpose but I waited because they at the time only had them in the two tone.

I might have to revisit these again.

That’s interesting.

I’m kinda meh on the 48 but also intrigued...how much of a difference is it really from a 19 for those that have both, maybe a better pic for comparison..

I came close to getting a 48 but ultimately decided it sits in a weird space that is probably really only interesting for folks who live in states with 10-round mag limits, in which case it's probably a better pick than the G19. But even then, there really isn't a significant advantage over the 43X, IMO.

I went with the 43 and 43X because the 48 is basically the size of a Glock 19, only slightly slimmer. If I'm going to carry a 48, I might as well carry a 19. I'm sure the 48 works for some people and their body types for CCW.

On paper these isn't much difference between the 19 & 48 as far as dimensions. But as somebody who has smaller hands (size 10 gloves, usually), the 48 is awesome. It's like a commander sized 1911 if made by Glock - flat, points nicely, etc. It just FEELS a lot better to me.

Between the 19 and 48 I totally get it, but what made you chose the 48 over the 43X? Same grip for your hands, same round count, but a touch shorter slide for even improved carryability and concealabilty.

I already have a 43, and the slides are interchangeable, so now I have one of each & I could make a 43X and a long-slide 43 if I so desired.... But honestly I prefer the longer slide. Just as easy to hide as the shorter one (IWB), better velocity, slightly less felt recoil due to the added weight, etc. I'm considering selling my G43 altogether.

Thanks for the comparison pics!

Ya I definitely think a 43 is in my future, not need for a pistol just barely smaller then the g19/p80 edc.
