Crush washer or shims

I’m thinking again, been thru this in my head on the last build. As I’ve read and it somewhat makes sense. Is the crush washers do not align the MUzzle device perfectly and can cause slight accuracy issues..I’d say not all the time, but maybe certain MD’s?

So for a non suppressor setup , ie: flash hider, comp etc..

Its usually manufacturer specific, some call for a CW and some use shims. Which MD are you going with?

Peel washer or a shim. I don’t use crush washers for anything

Shims or peel washers are better in my opinion. That said a crush washer won't hurt at all. For an average shooter your inaccuracies will be way more about ammo than muzzle devices.

Basically if you strapped down a gun in a vice and had perfect rolled hand loads you MIGHT see a difference but with off the shelf stuff it won't matter.

I like to time everything, there is always a top and a bottom. They aren't cheap to start, but I really like the Accuracies-Washer system.

Sometimes timing can get you different results. I didn't time my Griffin MD at first and with the can my POI was like 4 or 5 inches vs without. When I timed the MD correctly the POI shift went to about 1 inch.

Basically read the instructions and if it says time it then obviously do it right.

As you correctly pointed out with some MD it does make a difference.

For the rack grade rifle with an A2 comp or something similar that should be timed, a crush washer. A lock washer for an A1 or similar. Shims if it's a precision rig that you're trying to squeeze as much accuracy potential out of it as you can. If the manufacturer has specific directions, follow them.

Well parts box was empty, thought I had something for the 308 build..so up in the air.. I like the griffin flashcomp on my 556, wish I could find one for 30 cal..but quick search led to nothing..

Yes, they stopped making that style. They did just introduce another new style with their Explorr suppressors that is similar:

I’m totally liking these shims. Probably won’t use crush washers ever again, these worked well
