Schmidt-Rubin Karabiner Model 1911 (mfg. date 1922). This was from the batch AIM Surplus had recently, and i couldn't be more pleased with it. Matching serial numbers on everything, gorgeous blueing, nice wood, and it has a soldier's tag under the butt plate. A pretty impressive piece of history.

Thanks! The level of craftsmanship and finish is impressive by any standards, and especially for a mass produced military rifle. The bore is in great shape too, so hopefully it'll have the accuracy these things are known for. I need find some genuine, original Swiss stripper clips for a decent price.

Agreed. I went with SclararWorks to begin with and really like them. I switched to Daniel Defense fixed because OpticsPlanet had them in brown, and that goes with the color scheme. (Yes, I'm OCD and like things to be matchy-matchy.)

Ha! Almost. [emoji16] It's surprising how much more compact it is with the extendable sto..., um - brace - than it is with the SB Tactical brace that I originally put on it. While I haven't shot it for hours at a time, no problem with cheek weld, and the TailHook brace is far more comfortable. I'm not hacking on there SB Tactical brace - it's an excellent and far cheeper ($130) alternative to the B&T extender ($600).

Nice. I recently added an offset red dot for my Steiner M536. Upgrading for SHTF is a never ending process on virtually all my rifles. And old LMT defender is the closest I have for bone stock - just an enhanced carrier, G trigger and rare DD quad rail.
