View Full Version : "9mm" magazine marker bands?

So, in the interests of being consistent, I'm looking for magazine marker bands labelled "9mm". Currently all my 5.56 mags are black Pmags or aluminum, and .300 are Lancer see-thrus, but I've got bands on everything just for consistency and to add a level of redundancy when I take others shooting.

Now that CMMG has come out with the Pmag adaptors to run 9mm in their rotating bolt uppers with standard AR lowers, I'm using sand-colored Pmags for that caliber but would still like to band them. Internet searching just gives me 5.56, .300, and 7.62x39 bands.

Has anyone seen 9mm bands as of yet, or know of a place I could get some custom made? I realize I probably need to just wait a bit and see what/if the industry decides on a common color for them, but OCD....

What about ETS?

Why not just mark the PMAGS on the dots with 9mm or some personal code to let you know?

Nothing on their site.

I'm not concerned with my knowing what they are since I've already got them sorted by body color, it's more for other folks using them with me. Admittedly, you'd be hard pressed to chamber a 9mm round in a 5.56 chamber, but shyt happens.

I'm just gonna go low tech and stencil "9mm" on the sides of the mags with a black sharpie.

On the ETS, I think he means you can change the follower colors to let you know what kind of round you want to designate it as.

I'm wondering where you found the marker bands that you mentioned?

I don't need 9mm bands (yet) but I am thinking about saving up and buying a box of 300 BLK specific mags along with a few other things since I am starting to go long in the caliber.

Since the mags are different I would possibly like to mark them somehow as well.

What I am thinking is the floor plates, just change them out so the 5.56 ones are black and the 300 BLK ones are sand or something like that. That way I don't have to deal with bands.

For 9mm, if I wind up building a 9mm upper, I could get more sand plates and dye them some other color that won't turn out pink and be good to go.

Maybe an idea to pursue.

I'm more wanting them marked so other folks shooting with me know what they are. I'll know since (like you) I'm color coding them.

There are a lot of different bands available on Amazon (https://smile.amazon.com/5-56-Magazine-Marking-Zombie-Green-Black/dp/B07942R2BC/ref=pd_cp_200_1?pd_rd_w=9Raze&pf_rd_p=ef4dc990-a9ca-4945-ae0b-f8d549198ed6&pf_rd_r=JY4KMW7K2SKY93QY4A5W&pd_rd_r=5ab117a5-8938-11e9-b22d-851e8a613753&pd_rd_wg=zKlkb&pd_rd_i=B07942R2BC&psc=1&refRID=JY4KMW7K2SKY93QY4A5W). Scroll to the bottom of the page & there's like 20 different options for calibers and colors.

Jerry, why not just look at those 300 BLK marked PMAGs instead of the bands? [:D]

You going blind?

[:D] No ... all my pmags are black, really wanted a little more visual for my old eyes. One Ka-Boom and your day is ruined.

I like to use the Wilson Combat engrave port covers for alternate calibers, too. I know which gun shoots which caliber, but I'm concerned that down the road someone else might not
