I just received mine Monday. Its beautiful. I got it from Brownells. They don't have them listed on the website yet but if you call and give them the part number you can order it. Part number was 892-000-056 for the TR24G. I just shipped mine back out to a guy in Colorado from the Brian Enos forums that doing custom cat tails for them.

That is the optic I plan on putting on my S&W VTAC when I get back from deployment, it looks awsome, best of both worlds short to medium range.

Just hope that guy is for real.. Sending out my scope to him as well.

I guess you didn't get to try out the scope to see how good it is at 1x? That's what i'm wondering.. if 1x - 4x is better to me than 1.25x to 4x.

I actually did mount it before I sent it out and the true 1X was very nice.

Here's my TR24G set-up on my new build. Not sure exactly what I would classify this particular build as, but I cant wait to take it out this week to run some drills with the new Triji TR24G.

Some shots looking thru the TR24G:

This thing looks to be quite promising, and completely awesome from my initial impressions.

The green tritium is super bright, and completely useful in LOW/NO light scenarios from what I can tell so far.

As was suggested to me by Steve Fisher, the LaRue 1.93" height (LT-135) mount is the ideal height to facilitate a more "Heads-up" sight-picture in my opinion as well. The LT-135 puts the scope at about the same height as my Eotech & Aimpoints which are set-up for "lower 1/3" co-witness.

The only potential issue is that you may, or may not be able to shoot "nose-to-charging-handle" if you are not running a handguard with a continuous top rail that will allow you to move the LT-135 further forward on the rail than a standard flattop receiver allows. I found that for this set-up, I would need the TR24G to be mounted about 3-4" further forward to facilitate proper eye-relief if shooting "nose-to-charging-handle". But I prefer the height of the 1.93" LT-135 mount soo much more than the extended eye-relief (LT-139) mount that I will compromise and get a cheekweld a little further back on the stock.

I also ordered a "Cattail" from 3 Gun Stuff for my TR24G, and it seems like a very well designed, and well made accessory for variable magnification scopes. I received it from 3GS three days after placing my order on-line thru their site.

I will have some more thoughts on the new Triji after I hit the range this week...

Stay safe,
Nick

Definitely you'll like the cat tail. I have them for my TR21 and TR22 and they work great. They are bit expensive, but luckly I was one of the few who shipped Charles my scope to be custom fitted.. hence a discount in the price.

Check out LaRue Tactical.

They have them in stock WITH THEIR SCOPE MOUNTS at crazy good prices.

totaloutdoorsman.com has the TR24G in stock if anyone is looking... Seems a few have been arrived at various vendors today. I picked mine up at another vendor in Dallas.

I tried the TR24G in a SPR-E and like Nick posted above, I prefer to run the TR24G in a SPR 1.93 mount. It helps clear the front sight and X300 better, in addition to providing consistency with my Aimpoint Micros with a lower 1/3 cowitness. I have also noticed as has been mentioned in another thread, that the 1.93 mount allows me to get on target quicker than the SPR-E mount.

The cattail also makes it very fast to go from 1 to 4x. Also provides a nice visual indicator of what magnification you are in.

I never liked ACOGs in the past, as I could never see the reticle going from a well lit environment to a dark environment. No problems at all with that big ol green triangle! It is also faster for me to pick up the green triangle than my Aimpoint dots due to size and color.

Looking forward to testing it out on the square range next week and the next Drills Night. I think I found my new favorite general use optic...

Sorry for the poor pics...they were taken on my old Blackberry 8130 and I'm no Stickman... :)

Matt, based on your location and mention of drills night, I assume you mean TSSA drills? if so, make sure I get a chance to finger-bang that optic as it's the one I'm considering for my 6.8 that is inbound.

I will Rob. And yes the TSSA drills night. I was there last week with the Redimag/UBR/Noveske gun you used as an example.

Great Review. What are the details on the upper? Thanks

Hi, I have a question or two regarding the TR24G myself... I'm planing to use this optics on my 16" build. The only thing that worries me about this scope is the ranging since the reticle only offers the green triangle and not much more to use for holdover for longer distances (...400+meters). So, the first question is, how do you use the TR24G at longer ranges, past 200m. The second question being, does anyone have any information regarding Trijicon planing to offer other reticles for the TR24 than German and Triangle?

To use it past 200 yards, just dial in the range using the turrets. I'd recommend zeroing the scope at 100 yards and re-setting the turrets to zero and then figure out your trajectories using JBM or any ballistics program to figure out the trajectories.

FYI.... I still love this scope after over a year of use. At 1x I am as fast with the TR24G as I am with my Eotech. The big old green triangle is plenty fast. I know there is some concern about shooting from unconventional shooting positions (SBU prone, roll-over prone, etc.) with low power variable scopes, but on the 1x setting it is not an issue at all on the TR24G. If you have it dialed up to 4x then it can be difficult.

This is NOT a "precision rifle scope", but I consider it a great combat optic from distances of 0-300yards. And at the current going price of around $700, they are a complete bargain.
