I've had several friends recommend the Ruger LCR revolvers, so I've been looking at them, reading, videos. They come in several calibers: .22 LR and 22 Mag rimfire, 327 Federal Magnum, 9mm, 38 Special, and 357 Magnum. The come with an internal hammer, or the LCRx (pictured) has an exposed hammer. Two barrel lengths 1.87" and 3".

I chose the 327 FedMag version for a couple reasons. First, I like 32 caliber rounds. Don't know why, I'm just sort of drawn to that caliber. Second, you can shoot 5 different rounds out of it, as pictured, left to right:
32 ACP
32 S&W Short
32 S&W Long (32 Colt New Police)
32 H&R Magnum
32 Federal Magnum

Have not got to the range yet, but have done a lot of dry fire practice. The trigger is pretty good. People usually rave about it, but I don't think it's the best DA trigger I've felt in a revolver. Overall - it's a great CCW choice.

I've got one of those in .22lr. One of the most expensive handguns I own, strangely enough. I think I paid $800, and it was very hard to find a couple years ago.

I'll tell you what, if you can shoot that thing well you can shoot anything. Maybe it's because I'm not used to revolvers, but I find it VERY difficult to shoot well.
