Just out of curiosity... what's the story on the BCGs (or carrier alone)? Warsport says they aren't making them but rather someone else, Lantac or third party? Speaks of Lantac as if Lantac is making them but doesn't come right out and say so. It says Warsport, but it ain't made by Warsport! . Warsport (Lantac) Bolt Carrier Group If they are being made by Lantac and shipped absent Lantac markings it would be odd that Lantac would have such an agreement where the seller would reveal their supplier then undercut price. Third party manufacture? Lantac blems ??

I've got one I run on a large frame build (.260 Remington). My opinion shouldn't count for much, but FWIW I still give a very slight preference to Geissele, but it gets real hard to justify the cost of a Geissele when the MBT is under $100. I've seen plenty on the interwebs who prefer the MBT over Geissel. This pretty much means the MBT is half the price of the best deal on a Geissele (30% off MSRP maybe once a year). I'll probably stick with the Super Tricon for my HD weapons, SD-E for precision rifles, and fill up the rest of the lowers with the MBT.

LaRue permanently devalued their product when it was offered on sales for $99, at that point they were never going to sell anymore at $200.

Just like Geissele permanently devalued their products when Primary Arms has a 20% off Geissele sale every other month, with Geissele throwing in 30% off on BF and other events like post SHOT.

I run my first MBT on my go-to competition gun and once I got used the difference (which only took a mag or two), I haven't short-stroked the trigger once. I still will occasionally short-stroke a SSA. Take that for what it's worth (not much), but it was an interesting discovery.

My only complaint, and it's minor, is that you can't slide the trigger/disconnector under an already installed safety like you can with the SSA. Since just about every rifle I own has an ambi safety, that means I have to break thread lock and pop the lever off. Annoying, but a minor issue.

I just picked one up for $99 a few weeks ago. The flat surface of the trigger bow is nice, and with the heavier (6 pound) trigger spring installed I'm now using it on my patrol rifle. Qualification was even easier with this trigger, and like Gatordev said, it's very quick to adapt to using. I previously had an ALG ACT trigger in it - nice, solid, smooth, but the MBT is miles better. Chevy vs. Audi or BMW. The MBT is just...crisp and solid feeling, with a nice positive reset and the bow feels great under my finger. The only other higher-end trigger I've owned is a Geissele G2S, and TBH I prefer the LaRue after feeling them both. I think it's mainly the width of the trigger bow, plus the slightly "heavier" feel of the hammer when it falls that does it. I've already ordered another two at the $87 price.

I had the same issue, but discovered that if you turn the safety "upside down" you can rotate the "fire" flat spot around the tail of the MBT and it'll slide right in without removing the safety from the lower. You still have to loosen the grip enough to relieve spring pressure on the safety detent, but it's a little quicker.

Ohh, and my MRO arrived yesterday too...93xxx for the serial number. I hadn't realized how clunky my Comp M2 was until I compared it to the MRO with a LEAP mount.

ETA: I'm going to be selling my G2S once the 2 other MBTs arrive - $80 shipped if anyone wants it.

And this is why I consider the MBT garbage. I’ve had 2 and shot 2 others and not one of the triggers felt the same. Different resets on each and one was gritty and showed wear on the sear after 40 rounds. If I wanted a low quality mass produced trigger I’d just change the spring on a milspec and save $50.

I've heard and know you're love for the MBT before. I'd just offer that even SSAs haven't been consistent for me either. But I also know you're not a SSA devotee, as well. So I guess at the end of the day, we all have to roll with what we prefer and somehow the universe will continue to exist.

I'm a huge fan of my SSAs, but may just have to give these a go. I wonder if LaRue will honor their warranty if the MBT if used in a Sig MPX, unlike Geissele.

Geissele initially stated they would honor their warranty on triggers used in an MPX, then back-peddled on that statement, leaving people who purchased their product out to dry. They then said an MPX specific trigger was on the way, but was delayed, and delayed again, and now isn't even mentioned on their website. I've emailed Geissele three times in the last month asking about the MPX SSA, and have yet to receive a reply. I don't know what Geissele's problem is, but between their inability to reply to customer inquiries, the nearly three years worth of stringing people along with promises of a trigger for the MPX, and them basically telling their customers to eat shit if something breaks in an MPX, i'm about done with them.

Meh. For $87 right now I'd be willing to try an MBT in an MPX, and if it didn't work simply use it in one of my other ARs. Meanwhile, Timney's (https://www.rainierarms.com/timney-sig-sauer-mpx-2-stage/?___store=default&nosto=nosto-page-product1) MPX trigger is getting good reviews. I'd still be tempted to try the MBT first just for the cost savings though.

ETA: since I'm seriously considering an MPX for a "truck gun", I've been doing some reading on the purpose of the trigger bridge - bolt velocity on the MPX seems to throw the hammer back a lot harder than on a standard AR, resulting in the disconnector getting beaten up by the hammer and eventually causing problems, so Sig came up with the bridge to prevent the disconnector from being abused. The rear top surface of the Sig disconnect is lower than the rear top of a standard disconnector, so it might require some judicious filing to shave down a regular AR disconnector to match the Sig OEM disconnector specs. I'd probably experiment with that on a standard AR trigger group first & see how it worked, and if successful then I'd carefully work on the MBT disconnector if necessary.

(I don't have my MPX yet, so this is all in theory for right now. I'm loving the MBT in my other ARs though, so I'm hopeful this can be made to work).

HK being HK, it's probably typical German over-engineering. As for modifying disconnectors, if your goal is to get the Sig trigger bridge to fit and work with triggers other than the stock MPX trigger, you'll likely need to modify hammers as well, as the shape of the MPX trigger is unique, allowing it to both be stopped by the bridge and allow the bolt to cycle properly. Other triggers may bottom out on the bridge and prevent the bolt from cycling, or not stop the hammer soon enough and still pummel the disconnector. But i reckon this is a technical discussion, and subject for a thread other than this one.

The SPHUR mount if I am not mistaken has a notch milled into their one piece mounts. It works along the same principles. I don't know the thickness of that notch though. If it's the same I would think that a buying a wedge from Arisaka would be the ticket.

Man I couldn't wait any longer on my last build. I had 3 KAC stripped lowers on hand and just used one of them. I got that email yesterday and by the time I clicked on it they were gone. If anyone does use a Hodge stripped upper prepare for a crazy tight fit. It is recommended as a thermal fitting but I baked that upper in the oven at 350 for 30 minutes and still had to beat it on the barrel extension with a rubber mallet along with extra grease. The wife gave me a funny look when she came home as I was wearing oven mitts and wielding a hammer in the living room.
