Man it must be some work keeping up the "chart" as some builders seem to be changing spec's constantly. Diligent work.

Thanks. Contrary to popular believe, the chart is up to date. I do have to add YHM to the list and as soon as it is confirmed that Bushmaster and DPMS are changing their specs, I will update those also.

Hello Paulo,

I just came upon your chart: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tOtyqlb35yLitvWlWWajZyg&output=html

If you would be so kind, I would like to ask the following:

Do you favor one over the other- DI vs Piston?

What does 5R mean as opposed to 4 , 6 grooved etc.? The character "R" seems only to accompany the numeral "5"

Do you favor one over the other- grooved rifling vs polygonal?

In your opinion is the best barrel configuration still 1:11″/5R/SPCII Chamber? ...and with M4 Feed Ramps?

How does the attachment of a Suppressor factor in, change or complicate the various parameters?

I want to buy a very good 16" 6.8 Upper and likely attach a suppressor. Do you have an opinion on Suppressor details or brands?

Thank you kindly for your time and consideration Paulo,

Ciao,

Hello Paulo,

I found your chart online:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tOtyqlb35yLitvWlWWajZyg&output=html

May I PLEASE ask you the following:

In your opinion is 1:11"/5R/SPCII Chamber still the best configuration?

With M4 Feed Ramps?

What is the difference between SPC II and 6.8/43mm chambering?

Do you prefer one over the other- DI vs. Piston?

As there are different Piston Systems, which aspects of the various designs do you prefer?

How do shorter vs. longer barrel lengths factor into the DI vs. Piston choice?

Do you prefer one over the other- Grooved Rifling vs. Polygonal?

What is the significance of the “R” for the 5R rifling spec, what does it mean, why is it not seen or expressed with the other numerals that depict groove count? What is the difference between 5R and 5R Poly? Is the former Grooved and the later Polygonal?

In your opinion, cost no object, which is the preferable magazine Barrett 30 round or PRI 25?

How does a Suppressor factor in choosing optimum barrel parameters and DI vs. Piston systems?

I want to buy a top of the line 16" 6.8 Upper and will likely want to use a top of the line suppressor on it. In addition, I may be interested in a 6.8 SBR Upper with a 12" or shorter barrel also with a suppressor likely.

Do you have an opinion on which are the better suppressors?

Thank you kindly for your consideration Paulo, my area of expertise is in audio equipment, loudspeaker design and Home Theater Design. I will gladly reciprocate in any way I can if you have any interest or quandary in these areas. www.noble-fidelity.com

Hi paul

Just thought i would give you some more info on 6.8mm spc's, I have a Remington police 700 26" barrell 1 in 10 twist, I load it at 25.2 gn of reloader X10, 110 v max, it took me 18 months to get to the stage of clover leafing 3 bullets at 100m, the main problems were using horady (small primer) and remington (large primer) cases mixed together during the reloading process.

I seperated the case and settled for the mentioned load and it shoots really well.
