I have several AR platform carbines right now, but am starting to plan a "take no prisoners" once in a lifetime quality carbine build. I suspect it'll take me several months or years to financially get there, but I'd like to procure at least the lower soon.

In broad strokes, what I'm thinking right now is:

* A billet lower
* Vltor VIS upper with FA, either an extended mid-length or rifle length
* Mid-length light profile barrel
* UBR

Most of the details are still subject to development. (I'm easily influenced by Stick's pics :P .)

As I mentioned, I'd like to get at least the lower purchased. I'm thinking I'd like an integral ambi bolt release which leads me to a POF GenIII, but I'm open to suggestions.

Comments or ideas?

Congratulations on making that decision. Note, a lesson I learned was to try and combine as many items as you can in an order--shipping from too many places is a bear.

Make sure that when you pick an upper and lower, they should fit well together, not just in the mating, but in the look and lines--not all uppers/lowers fit well, or look good together. I built something along the lines of your goal, but I didn't go all out on everything.
