The Noveske N4 would fit the bill. While not cheap, there are a LOT of options, and you would be looking at one of the best AR15s on the market. We have a review of the Noveske N4 basic written up, and any of the LEO or MIL involved would be willing to carry one for duty use.

N4 Light Carbine, Low Profile (http://noveskerifleworks.com/cgi-bin/imcart/display.cgi?item_id=r-lclp-556&cat=47&page=1&search=&since=&status=)

Other weapons that I would carry for duty would be Colt, LMT, Daniel Defense, or BCM.

...that alone speaks volumns...cuz' when you get down TO IT, it's which weapon you want in your hands if you're protecting those things most important to you...like FAMILY - when the going get's frantic...reliability...

I did see another Noveske I liked...VTAC - looks hellacious! (but I'd likely want to pick up a DD rail for accessories....

I carry a Noveske as my current duty weapon, and like you said, it speaks volumes for how much I think of their product.

If you like the Daniel Defense rail, you could always buy the N4 basic from a dealer (I would trust any of the dealers here, and not because they are sponsors). Then have the dealer install whatever DD rail you like.

I bought a Noveske [16" N4 Recce] five weeks ago, so far two range trips shot total 250 rounds 55 grain FMJ PMC, flawless performance from the weapon.

I did a lot of internet research and one-by-one narrowed down my choices and options, not easy decisions because of a lot of excellent product. I'll sum up by saying I picked the most features I wanted and the least [none actually so far] I'd swap out. A butt pad is the only add-on at this time.

This list is, and has been, invaluable. There is a chart compiled by a member that was very useful in learning just what I was looking for sometimes. If this link doesn't work google AR 15 chart

Good luck,

How is this different from your other thread?

Seems like it would be hard to keep track of two threads on the same subject.

STICK - thanks for the input...and your picture site is makin' me drool brother... 1 question - would a shorter barrel (12 1/2") compromise accuracy to any great extent within a 100-300 meter range?

Accuracy? No.

Velocity? Yes.

I'm assuming (always dangerous) the greater length will equate to a greater fps? and will the difference be appreciable 100 meters and in?

back to drooling over your photos...[pop]
