Input needed on "newbie" build.

This is my first build, and had a question about mating an upper and a lower from different manufacturers. I am going with a Spike's Tactical SL-15 lower with color fill, and a Vltor MUR 1A for the upper. I've read that others have had issues with uppers and lowers having play in them, when bought from different companies. Has anyone mated a Vltor and a Spikes? Don't want to mess up my first build. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I personally have not mated these two brands but don't see why you would have any problems. They're both GTG.

It's impossible to tell how much play there will be without actually trying with the specific upper and lower. There will even be some variance in the amount of play between different uppers and lowers of the same manufacturer. The play won't affect accuracy or function, if it bothers you try an accuwedge and/or o-ring.
