My 16" POF carbine has been highly reliable. I can't remember it ever having a malfunction.

thanks Stick - has their proprietary NP3 coating proved reliable as well...? The science sounds promissing, but until things are field tested in the filed, it's all talk...

and has their gas piston system performed well, maintaining a cleaner piece?

FWIW, that picture I posted is of the rail system on a POF that has come loose and started sliding forward. When the owner contactd POF he was told "that's not possible". Then he sent them the pictures. I believe one of the screws that secures the rail system sheared in half which allowed the whole rail to move forward under recoil.

Probable cause would be over-torquing of the fasteners. Or screw was misaligned during installation. Sometimes the assembler can put the wrong type of fasteners in, too. It happens. Do you know if this was an isolated case, Rob?

It's a sample of one. My limited experience with this particular gun was that an empty case got stuck the first time I shot it, and then this failure of the rail. Sample of one or not, I lost any and all interest after that. Understand that, it being a piston gun, my interest to begin with was close to nil.

Rob, I saw the same thing happen to a POF at a class I went to. I don't know if it is a known problem or if it was just installed wrong.

I personally attempted to run one on TD3 of a hybrid DC1/DC2 class with Magpul this past weekend. Costa hates these things, and I attempted to prove him wrong..

It was a 9.25" with a M42000.. It got through the first volley and continued to stove pipe on xm193

I've got a 9.5" DI upper that runs like a sewing machine, but in general, it seems like a bastard size.
