so I took the advice and painted both the upper and the lower. I was halfway through when I realized I had not taken any before pics. Trust me when I say it was so easy. I had been dreading doing it for no reason. I love the color and it went on great. The only complaint (oh I used the Norells),...it is rough to the touch. It looks super smooth but when you touch it it feels rough?? Is this normal? Does it take a clear coat to make it "feel" smooth?

If you get a sandpaper finish with the molyresins, odds are you were too far away when spraying, or spraying too light of a coat... if you do regular touch-ups with a rattle can, you will not notice it after that.

I like the rougher texture as it is ultra matte in appearance. You can take a terry cloth rag and rub it briskly if it is super textured, and that will smooth it out a bit.

Its hard to make a call for me without seeing it myself.

at work now...but will get some pics up when I get home,....hopefully before I go to Krav. I ended up buffing it up a bit with a super fine steel wool. It did great. It kept the matte appearance but is not rough anymore. I will also post the spray device i used. more later.....

okay,...so I finally had time to sit down and take some pics and post them. I hate that I did not take any before i painted but trust me,..it looks much different. I hope the paint holds up well and lanceriley you were correct. I still had some rough spots but some rem oil and a micro fiber towel did the trick. thanks.
I do have a concern though,...I have cycled Wolf (I know, I know,..) and some high dollar Hornady through it and on about ever third charge it jams. I bought a BCM BCG and the barrel is from Brownells. Any advice from the pros??? Please help. my last build did not have this problem at all

Slightly off topic but I would highly recommend an AAC Blackout flash hider. Hands down the best I've used. Even better than the Smith Vortex. As for the jams...how many rounds have been through your rig and how many cleanings have taken place. As you probably already know Wolf tends to be very dirty. I would give it a good cleaning and make sure you have it properly oiled. In my experience your rifle will run far better and jam free if it is running lubed and wet. Anyone can chime in on this but a cleanly lubed gun is a happy gun!

I checked that AAC out and like it but in the end just for money reasons and because my trip to east Texas was quickly approaching I just went with a standard A2 for now. It did the job. i got to shoot quite a bit (just rec shooting) and it did wonderful. Any issues in the beginning resolved themselves once. We put maybe 200 rounds through it with no issues. Thanks for your advice.
