I saw a post of the Phase 5 Tactical EBRv2 and after the Magpul BAD was released. While I love my Magpul products, I have been looking for a solution to fit on my Sun Devil Upper because the BAD does not. The Sun Devil Upper has a thick receiver wall and a recessed bolt release paddle area.

I had few options if I wanted to use a device that allowed me to operate the bolt release from the right side of the rifle. I could modify the Magpul BAD, which I have on other rifles I own, but I hate to modify things because you will undoubtedly lose some integrity in the product. With the BAD on the outs for my Sun Devil Upper, I ordered a Phase 5 Tactical EBRv2 to experiment with the fit and got positive results--way to go Phase 5! The strength and workmanship of the EBRv2 seems comparable to the BAD levers I have on my other rifles and the EBRv2 is a replacement for the standard bolt release, so it's not an attachment or bolt-on accessory. Installation is easy with the right punch, just like a standard bolt release. From a function standpoint, it find it to work the same and feel similar to the Magpul BAD on my other rifles. The EBRv2 appears to be a solid upgrade.

On another note, with the aesthetics of my Sun Devil/Seekins Precision build, the EBRv2 goes real well in terms looks.

Neat! I'm glad you found a way to make it work out. The EBR v2 does indeed look like a match made in heaven for the Seekins lower.

Get your AR cleaned up and show us some overall pictures if you will! =D

I have to admit...I think I like it better than the BAD! I really like the cut out sections for a little bit of weight loss. I doubt the weight difference is really noticed but it still gives it a cool look. It looks pretty robust as well. Its hard to tell from your pics if the flash is slightly washing it out but it almost looks unanodized / bare metal. I would assume that it is a finished product.

The way the EBRv2 looks in the pics is pretty much how it looks to the eye--a little grey looking like your mag release, fire control group pins, safety, etc. Like I said, it's not a bolt-on solution, but a complete drop-in replacement for the standard catch/release. I like it.

Here is the link to order one--Phase 5 EBRv2 (http://www.phase5tactical.com/g_products/ebr.html)--scroll down past the EBRv1, it's a bolt-on job. They ship quick too.
