Here is the link:

Looks like an especially good option if you do transition between 2 point and single point slings. Having a Qd attach point flapping around could be a liability for some and this seems to address that. It also looks a bit more solid than a QD Attach point would be.

Have a look here (http://www.weaponevolution.com/forum/showpost.php?p=16832&postcount=9) and keep in mind that this could be a magpul-spring, not a literal spring... [:D]

Yes, I've played around with it.

Yes, I've played around with it.

Stick, does it allow for more rotation of the "Alligator" clip than the CQD loop design? Or is this a problem that Magpul is addressing with the MS3 sling and a "New" clip?. I hope they also address the noise factor, the ASAP and "Alligator: clip is quite noisy. Taping it down just doesn't seem to work for long. When I was in the teams, noise discipline was paramount.

TIA
Until that day,
Darkop

The MS-3 that I played around with was a prototype, so its hard for me to give any solid answers. The Magpul Sling Mount was as well.

Off hand, I thought the Magpul version gave roughly the same, or perhaps a little more room than the old Daniel Defense loops.

Stick, any comments on how well a side-of-toprail sling point like the RSA works out?

I've been waffling about how to best put a sling point on the rear side of my TRX Extreme and this may be a better solution. I just don't know how the weapon will hang in two point mode with the front loop up there.

RSA might even be good for us MOE handguard users if mounted on a short rail chunk that is attached to the top of the handguard - but I'd be worried about rotational force since the RSA would act like a lever.

I just got this little update from Magpul on the RSA and MS3 sling.

The RSA and MS3 are still in development and moving quickly toward production. No official timeline has been announced, but everything is still on track for a summer 2010 release. We'll be sure to post more info at www.magpul.com as it becomes available.

Im wondering when magpul is going to come out with one of there new products. The RSA, MS3, or those 40round pmags would be nice. The targets kind of dissapointed me a little bit.

I would consider being unhappy with MagPul and release times, but they have yet to debut a project and/or product that wasn't ready for showtime. I'm extremely happy that they have managed to take their time and get it right, so I can buy with confidence when they first roll out.

I completely agree with you on that. Magpul does take there time and the result is a very high quality product. I just wish it didn't take them so long to do so.

Someone told me they were for sale on eBay so I checked it out. Looks to me that they’re from the “Magpul China” division. I really hate when people sell these things so I sent Nick Booras at Magpul an email with a link hoping he’d reply with some good news - all I got was a thanks - no update. Magpul is getting about as frustrating as my ex-wife. Although their stuff works and I don’t have to share.

Considering the volume they deal in it's understandable that it takes a lot of time to get their products finalized and released. In the meantime there are other products by quality brands (VTAC, Gear Sector, MI, etc) that you could buy from if it really is urgent (i.e. LE, Mil). I understand this mount like the other MOE components was supposed to be more economically priced versus other mounts, but if it's for a hobby gun it shouldn't be frustrating. Not taking a personal jab, just trying to offer an individual opinion.

My understanding of Magpul's MOE line, and Magpul in general for that matter, is that its products are made for fighting rifles not just hobby ones and thus even economically priced products are meant to work exactly right from the start.

My point had nothing to do with the quality of the MOE, I'm well aware they're used by those in harm's way. What I was trying to say is that if someone really does need a sling mount, they shouldn't wait for one specific one to be released while there are other options already out.

Brownell's has the Magpul Rail Sling Attachment (RSA) available for back order! I just ordered one. They ship late November 2010.

I've seen websites advertise that before. Brownells and Midway specifically. You could back order a MOE+ grip as far back as Nov. last year (or possibly even earlier if I remember correctly). They had a date expected in stock as well. I had one on my Christmas list because according to Midway they would have them long before. Then they pushed back the date expected in stock. Then they pushed it back again. Then again. Then again. You can STILL back order the MOE+ grip. Midway currently expects to have them in stock Dec. 31 2010.

Yeah.... right....

All this to say I'm extremely skeptical when I see an "Expected in stock" date for products that are not released. Especially Magpul products, seeing how Magpul no longer puts out any release dates on their products.

Hey...

If you have a MOE or any ROUND, Tubular hand guard or foreend like a TROY TRX/VTAC Extreme, JPI/VTAC, YHM, PRI, Midwest Industries, etc...

IWC will have our NEW OCP MOUNT-N-SLOT available this weekend. The OCP (Oblique Connection Point) is similar to IWC's Snap Hook MOUNT-N-SLOT, but mounts on an angle directly to the hand guard/foreend using a single attaching screw, and increases the access to the loop, allowing faster hook in and more comfort for the operator's support hand.

We'll start a thread for this and our other NEW PRODUCTS here on WEVO and our other Forums, as well as our site and official fan page on facebook.

We also plan of sending one to Quib for a review.

Thanks!

How do you like it? Is yours starting to fuzz up and fray on the sides? It seems mine is.

Your RSA is starting to fray? How is that possible?

I had evidently backordered two of these when they seemed like a great idea to me at the time and Brownells was nice enough to ship me out both of them when they came in stock. LOL

Guess I'll have to find some use for them now...
