Daniel Defense has a new item in production which may interest someone looking for a high quality 4c axis rail system at a price which will remain easy on the wallet. The EZ CAR 7.0 is a non free floating rail which will not require specialized tools other than an Allen wrench to brace the rails with the barrel nut. EZ CAR 7.0 will allow you to remove your hand guards and slip this into place and attach your VFG or light mount. Current MSRP price has been stated to be $159. Photos to be posted shortly

Stoked for photos. Any idea of a projected release date? I'm in the market for a handguard rail and was gonna grab either a KAC RAS or a DD Omega, but this may just be the ticket if I won't have to wait too long.

I am still working on getting the photos posted. Sorry for the delay.

Sorry for the delay, to my eye, it looks like an Omega rail that is wider, and doesn't lock to the D-Ring.

It is a two piece system with set screws used to lock it in place. So if you have an optic mounted on the reciever, you could use this lower cost rail to support lights and grips.

Focal point too close, or just too low of an F-stop? =]

Very low shutter speed, hand holding the camera and weapon while shooting at F4.

Thanks for the pics Stick. Any idea when this is supposed to hit the streets?

Good stuff. Finally, someone came out with a non-FF quad rail with the top rail that is continuous with the flat top. I always wonder why it took so long.

I want to say these should be available mid March if I am remembering correctly. I will see if I can get a more solid answer.

Been there...wife gets sick of me saying, "Honey, can you hold this...like this...just for a second?" (Insert jokes here) Only to end up with 20 crap shots with wrong F stop setting. I gotta start shooting teathered.

So it's a Knight's RIS/RAS/whatever for (hopefully) less money?

(this, by the way, is a good thing IMHO)

Agreed. I'm going to be all over this when it is released. Do you have any issues with the RIS/RAS aside from cost, Rob?

Not really. My main complaint with them has always been that for the price you're starting to get to FF rail price range, at which point there isn't much reason for one.

Bravocompany is selling these now. They seem to compete directly with my Troy MRF-DI rail. I wonder which is better?

These lock into place through the use of a set screw, which I don't believe the Troy do IIRC.
