At the Lewis Machine & Tool (LMT) booth, there was excitement with their new AR platform in the 308/7.62 caliber. The LMT 308 AR also known as the L129A for the British military; recently won a British military contract and will be used by the warfighters there.

“The L129A1 will replace the aging bolt action Accuracy International L96 in the Sharpshooter role. In the British Army certain troops are provided with specialist training and designated as Sharpshooters. They do not fulfill the role of Snipers but rather provide enhanced lethality and accuracy to the small unit leader.”

Soldier System, 2010

The LMT will be sporting a Trijicon scope built to British military specs, see attached photo. Noticed the different flash hider used by the British military. Fortunately, LMT will be offering a similar rifle to us in the next few months.
MSRP for the AR 308 will be priced at $2500.00. I can't wait to get my hands on this rifle.

I just got my LMT CQB MRP 5.56 in the mail a few weeks ago. I have been shooting it a lot and love it. Was a content happy man until i viewed the 308 pics.... Now i have to save up again.
