Hey everybody!

I ran across this site while looking for gas tubes for 2 .308 AR's that i'm building...one for me and one for my dad.

I like the site sofar, even though today is my first day here; I'm pretty active over on SnipersHide and Maryland Shooters...

So back to what brought me here....gas tubes for .308 AR's, do you guys have any suggestions?

Both rifles will be using Iron Ridge Arms, stripped uppers and lowers...

This is what I have for both sofar for parts:

Mine:
Iron Ridge Arms stripped upper/lower
Magpul PRS
A2 grip (for now)
Standard trigger (for now)

Inbound:
LaRue rail
24" SS DPMS Bull Barrel

Need:
Complete BCG
Gas tube/pin

Dads:
Iron Ridge Arms stripped upper/lower (OD)
Magpul MIAD grip (OD)
Standard Trigger

Inbound:
24" SS DPMS Bull Barrel

My dad wants his entire rifle to be OD....can an AR15 A2 stock be used on a .308 AR?

Also if you guys can things ok anything else I might be missing, please let me know!!!

Thanks guys, look forward to spending more time here! [:D]

Armalite has AR10 gas tubes.

I don’t know. Have you contacted DPMS?

I have .223/5.56 and .308/7.62 platforms and this might sound naive at this point, but is there a difference in gas tubes for the those systems whether rifle, mid, or carbine length? Without taking one apart they look similar.

DPMS does not distinguish by caliber for gas tubes on their website in the online store. One would think they would use the same gas tubes as the smaller caliber systems if possible.

DSGarms.com They should be the same for either or. Email DSG to confirm.

Nice components. I went with a UBR on my AR10 and it's so nice.

alscustom.com has adjustable A2 stocks as well if he likes the classic look.

Please be sure to post pics and good luck.

Armalite AR10 gas tubes are different then AR15 gas tubes. However, DPMS compatible 308 uppers uses the same gas tubes as AR15s

Here's a couple pics of my AR-10 Build with UBR stock so you can get an idea of how it looks.

It drops down nice and compact and provides some weight in the rear (like the PRS will).

I plan on upgrading the barrel to an 18" Lothar Walther, the upper and lower to Iron Ridge, and NP3 the BCG. I know the scope is a bit big, but it's the only one I had laying around not doing anything. It'll eventually go on a 300WM.

IMHO... the scope is perfect. [:)]

Thanks Mega. I was thinking maybe a 3.5-15 Nightforce NXS.

EDMP, I meant to ask how you like the Iron Ridge uppers and lowers? I have approx 10 Armalite mags but man did they cost. If I were to do it all over again, I might go with the DPMS/KAC/LR receivers for the Magpul 20rdrs.

I'm running an AR Gold trigger, and though the selector requires a little more effort than I prefer, the trigger squeeze is a dream. I've had some buddies (all through the NSW PICT/Scout/Sniper course) all comment on how nice it is. I would highly recommend them if you are still in the market for a trigger.

Regardless, good luck on your build and post pics.

SDD, so far I like them, even though they arent fully assembled...I opted to get both of them ceramic coated and I was able to get consecutive numbers for me and my dad, which was pretty cool.....if you do switch over to the DPMS style I would say go with the Pmags, they fit great!

Soon as I get some parts pictures I'll post up what I have...
