What are you using for Flash hiders? I came across this Wilson Combat item: http://www.wilsoncombat.com/search_results.asp?txtsearchParamTxt=TR-ATFH-68&txtsearchParamCat=ALL&txtsearchParamType=ALL&iLevel=1&txtsearchParamMan=ALL&txtsearchParamVen=ALL&txtFromSearch=fromSearch&btnSearch.x=68&btnSearch.y=9

Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with this device?

Any other recommendations?

I bought two of them in the 5.56 version from midwayUSA. One went on one of my guns and did not harm or help accuracy (which I hoped for). It seemed to quench flash as well as most other flash hiders in this price range.

The other one (same item) would not thread onto my barrel (Not barrel fault as other flash hiders have been on it). You could see from a visual inspection that the threads cut in the flash hider were more shallow than the other FH I had. It was nice to compare them.

I returned both and just went with vortex FHs since they cover the barrel end so nice with their lip that extends back. They just have the cleanest look since you don't need a crush washer (like the accu-TAC) or peel washers.

I'm sure it was just a fluke since wilson combat is top shelf, but after that, I put a vortex on a friend's 6.8 and never looked back. Just like the look better.

I'm using an Armalite .308 A2. It's the cheapest I could find, and my 6.8 is a "budget" build.

I know that they aren't the best, but I do like, and use, the Phantoms...

The accutacs are good for the money. I shot my last 6.8 at night and it did a good job at suppressing the flash through the scope.

I have since added an AAC Blackout to my new build. But I plan on finishing that one off with a 7.62SD can :)

Yeah, a can would be the ultimate flash hider...[:D]

Seriously, how does the accu-tac compare to the AAC? I have some Blackouts on 5.56 carbines and are highly effective. I'd just prefer to spend $50 rather than $100 for the 6.8, but if the AAC is twice as good at flash reduction, its worth the extra $$$$.[BD]

So far, I haven't shot either at night side by side. The Accutac did a good job at reducing flash, and like the AAC, it's a 3 prong design. I'd say without further test, you'd be better suited by the Accutac for the price. It's definitely shorter too :)

OK, sounds like based on your reply, it may be my best bet.

Anyone else have any feedback?

I'm using an ARP 8 port ( 4 prong)tuneable MCD on my 6.8.
Threads are 5/8X24
Don't know how it is for flash (haven't shot it at night yet)
But it works very well for keeping the muzzle down for follow up shots.
Price was around $59 IIRC
