save the money and buy the real thing. buy once, cry once is a saying on quite a few of these places, it's the truth.

Vortex is the overpriced one ;)

Vortex is no better than the PA, Aimpoint is significantly better than both. If you're going to buy cheap crap (like for a .22 or something) might as well buy the cheapest crap you can get.

[:D]

I have a PA on my M&P15-22.

If you are not going to be running a T-1 or H-1 your best bet ( IMO) is Primary Arms ..I have their Compact scope and I "had" their comp m4 ..both held zero ..I run a T-1 on my SBR now but still use the P.A compact Scope on my 16"...for the money and service you cannot beat primary arms for "non battle proven optics " but in the end I would suggest saving up for a T-1 or H-1 you will not be disappointed

Vortex has a lifetime warranty FWIW. Not sure about PA.

I still don't understand how people can knock Vortex. I HAVE PERSONALLY SHOT THE SPARC. I really like it. It handled great. During the whole shoot about 10,000 rounds were pumped through it and it stayed true through them all. All the guys were roughing it up and giving it hell. I have three on order now since handeling it. It is a great optic.

Vortex has commented that they are going to be getting one of these to us for review. They appear to believe pretty strongly in the product, and that it will be able to stand up to abuse.

This would be sick.

They may not have the total bomb proof construction of the Aimpoints, but the biggest concerns I've heard have been battery life and dot brightness. I'm very interested in seeing how this little one works out.

The dot could be a smidge brighter. Battery life hasn't been an issue for me. The problem is easily hitting the power power and not knowing it.

On a side note, it looks like Vortex has created a brighter dot now.

No mention of green dot on that page. Wonder if they sacrificed it for a brighter red dot.

Have you received an e-mail with tracking info? All other websites carrying the Sparc are showing an April 2010 release.

I'm not sure about the Sparc, but i have 2 Strikefires and i can say that they have held up very well and the dot is really bright. I however do not like the on/off switch position.

Well, I think Vortex is fighting windmills with this one - Aimpoint has set the bar ridiculously high, and as Trijicon's RMR's become more common, those two options are going to be the surviving ones (T-1/H-1 for Carbines/SMGs, RMR for SMGs/Pistols).

Where they do have it figured out are the Vipers - 1-4x24mm and 2.5-10x24mm will sell great for carbines/rifles.

Check this out! This guy took the SPARC and drowned it, froze it, and did everything he could to kill it. And it came through with flying colors! I bought one to play with until the Kreuger Dual Tatical comes out in October!

I have 3 now they run great and hold a zero, was shooting accurate past 600 yards easy . I feel more than confident to buy anything from, Vortex . I'm looking at the Vortex RazorHD for my MaTen build now.
