Hey how much length does the KAC triple tap add to the length of your barrel? I would like to build a 14.5" and permanently attach the tripple tap to get 16" legally, if that would work. Also any reviews or opinions on them from people who have them would also be helpful....

Maybe even some pics please

I think that the KAC Triple Tap might be the wrong choice for pinning and welding as it is made of Inconel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inconel) which is very hard to machine. I'd imagine it would even harder to drill and weld a pin. Plus it's a over $400, just my 2 cents.

Might not be worth the trouble.

Good point. Maybe using a permanent epoxy of some sort would be better. If my state wasnt so communist I wouldnt worry about it and just get a stamp but being as I live here Im trying to have the good stuff and stay legal at the same time, ya know

Titus,

Epoxy won't make it legal. Its possible that silver solder would work, but I'm honestly not sure how the inconel works with it.

A good machine shop and carbide drill will have no problem drilling a hole for a pin in inconel. Inconel is very hard and just need to be machined slower than steel ( machinist at my current work ). Welding will be another thing, I have no experience in welding inconel.
