The use of frangible ammunition in your AR-15/M4/M-16 is not a good idea. Gas tubes are hardest hit by disintegrating ammo. The gas tube pictured below was removed from an RO933. The abrasive effects of frangible ammunition can be seen. The gas tube cracked while being removed for periodic inspection. Had this not been caught when it was, the result would have been the front piece of the gas tube being lodged in the FSB. Removing it would be difficult and expensive. Friends don't ley friends shoot frangible ammo in their Colt carbines and rifles....

Good info and true words. Unfortunately, many run on ranges where it's the only option.

Haven't found a green frang I truly like yet. Got a preference or best load for least potential damage?

Nothing like abrasive blasting your weapon, from the inside....
