I've been following Wevo for a couple of years now and I've learned a lot from you guys. This is my first complete build from scratch so I thought I'd post some pics. I have a 16" middy so I decided to build a scoped rifle that would be good to 300 yards.

I looked at different monolithic uppers and decided on the Mega because I like the one-piece construction.

Mega monolithic rifle length upper
Rainier 18.5 ultramatch barrel 1:8
Rainier low profile gas block
YNM bolt carrier
Denny ion bond bolt
Leupold Mark AR scope
CMMG lower
Timney single stage trigger
Magpul UBR

The Mega upper is really nice. Very solid with great fit and finish. And, its nicely packaged and includes the special barrel wrench and lube for assembly.

Assembly is so easy a caveman can do it.

All built and ready for the range

Many thanks to Mike at Rainier for the great customer service!

Nice job.

I'm really liking the way the Mega upper looks and I'm wondering how well it would match up with my Seekins lower that's been pushed aside since last year.

Yup, Mike's a great guy!

Really nice build! I believe I may have already said that on another forum but it is definitely worth repeating......

very cool, I'm thinking a similar build but in 6.8. Keep us posted with range time.

Got it out to the range twice and put a little over 300 rounds through it. Had one FTF with Hornaday 75 Practice.. it had a good primer strike so I think it was the ammo.

Aside from that, the rifle operated flawlessly.

The Rainier barrel is outstanding. I have to figure out what ammo will work best... so far, I tried PPU 69, Hornaday 75 Practice and Fiocchi Vmax-50.
The Fiocchi is substantially better than the other two. It seems a bit odd, but the Fiochhi shoots about an inch lower (at 100 yards) than the heavier rounds.

Here's a few pics. Twelve 5-shot groups at 100 yards. Not sure where the 5th shot went on target 12 :-(

Good shootin'!

Good shooting. You may want to keep an eye open for some more light primer strikes. It may be the trigger.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on that.

I only have one problem with the build... GI mags work perfectly but PMags don't drop free. The mag well on the CMMG lower seems tighter than my other ARs. I'm hoping it will just break in with use.
