I got a really good deal on a LNIB TA31RCO-A4; it's to mount on my LE6940. My question is, because this ACOG was designed for the M16A4, would I be sacrificing any accuracy by mounting it on an M4 design?

Thanks,

The TA31RCO-A4 is calibrated for a 20" barrel using the M855 ammo at 3100 FPS. So if you are using a 14.5"-16" barrel, your velocities will be slower which means that the BDC may not match up exactly unless you use the 55 GR ammo which will be faster. But honestly, from 0-300 yards or meters, it won't make a big deal at all. Here are the BDC for the TA31RCO-A4:

RANGE: DROP: DROP:
0: 2.6" ***
100: -0" -0 MOA
200: -2.9" -1.3 MOA
300: -13" -1.3 MOA
400: -32.3" -7 MOA
500: -63.8" -11.2 MOA
600: -111.9" -16.3 MOA

Unless you're shooting at long distance known distance, the error isn't really worth worrying about. An M4 shooting 77gr shoots high on even the A4BDC, but by such a trivial margin unless you're shooting it from a rest (in which case the ACOG isn't the best choice).

Simple answer - you're fine.
