We have had our 'Big Ole' Modular Padded Belt for years, and has sold well.
Originally designed for full size pouches, Its not as low profile and sleek as customers want today.
Well with all the rave moving to smaller lighter belt systems we decided to knock heads to develop a new system that couldn't compare to anything on the market.
We listened to all the negatives about other belt systems and took on the task of fixing those problems.

Out popped the Sure-Grip Padded Belt System..

This new Modular Padded Belt System is the one of the slimmest, and sturdiest on the market. The key feature that makes this belt stand apart from the rest is our use of Neoprene as the Padding. If you are familiar with our Wa/Wee Shoulder Pads, you will love the way this belt feels. The Neoprene adds a unique "Gel Like Feel" to the belt while adding a level of Grip that is unlike any other belt system we have seen. The belt has a removable HDPE stiffener sheet through the entire main portion where the 3 continuous Rows of PALS/MOLLE are located for added stability. There are 3 Access ports for the attachment of subloads directly to the Interior belt. 2 are located on the Hips at 3oclock and 9oclock, the 3rd is located at the 6oclock position to attach Dump Pouches directly to the Inner Belt. 4 Suspender Attachment points are located around the belt. There is a 2" Strip of Hook Material sewn the entire Length of the Interior Belt Channel on the Body Side and 10" strips along the outer side near the pocket Openings. Available in 4 Common sizes. (Custom Sizes Available on Request) 2" Wide "Duty" style Scuba Webbing belt can be added for an additional $15. The "Duty" Style belt has Loop Material Sewn inside and out to "attach" to the Strips of Hook along the Interior Belt Channel and create a SOLID grip of the entire system. Made in the USA and Comes with HSGI's Lifetime warranty.

Do you have any pictures of someone wearing it? All of the pics are up close and hard to see how it looks when someone is wearing it. If not, not a big deal.

I'll see about snapping some pics this weekend.
We're waiting on a shipment of HDPE to finish up the first run of Pre-Ordered belts.
There are 10 Prototypes floating around with LEO, .Mil, and Industry Partners, I'll see if I can get one of them to snap some pics..
There are a couple changes between the prototype belts and the production models..

Designed to be the best all around belt system we could offer.
Some Problems we addressed were the belt moving Around and shifting while running/extracting Mags, being too thick, not being sturdy enough (Floppy), expensive, Not Capable of mounting Regular dump pouches, and just shitty all around.
Our design features solved all of these problems.
Also it just looks Sexy..

Competition Shooters, Gun Fighters, and Hobbyists will all see the benifits of this design after they use it.

We could say its designed specifically for Delta Elite DEVGRU Tier 1 SEAL Operators, but the fact is we build all of our gear to withstand their harsh treatment.
Some products we offer were designed by/for guys like that and we give credit where its due...

I do know if a Picture pops up with Travis Haley or Chris Costa wearing it, we wont be able to keep it in stock.. lol

Any possibilities of these being sold as a package with TACO pouches (i.e. pair of pistol and rifle TACO pouches?)

I have set up 2 Belt setups this week with the USMC issue dump pouch at the 7:30 position.
And a handful more this past week I made an adapter for the issue dump pouch.
My buddies in 3 Charlie are grabbing up all the belts we make.
They are currently in a shooting package and are running pistol taco's for their 1911's and their dump pouches and Safariland rigs are hanging off the supplied inner belt.

This Marine Scout Sniper has been in the deserts for the past couple months training for an upcoming deployment using the SGPB.
Of course since we changed it slightly (added the 6oclock subload opening) since he got this one we had to give him a brand new one before he rolls out this week. :-)

My thoughts, as well as the thoughts of the other LE involved in this so far have continued to be highly positive. The belt does not slide or move around, which is a huge plus.

One of the most common injuries for LEO is the lower back. There are other belt systems on the market that are padded, but they are all requiring the use of an underbelt. This is traditional and every real cop knows we wear two belts. The issue with this is that the under belt tends to dig into the L3/L4/L5 area of the back, which is often where the disk is damaged. While padding helps, there is still the pressure against the lower back, though the padded options certainly help.

If the HSGI is able to function properly without the use of the under belt, it will be a monumental step forward for LEO. The molle system is a draw back for some issued equipment that is retained on the belt, but we are working with other options right now to show a functional full duty load out.

Expect that this evaluation will take at least another month. The gear needs to all be functional as its being used for daily patrol on the streets of a high crime city. Once we get everything setup, and have 100+ hours of duty use with it, we'll report back with what we find out.

Stick is right, this belt system looks promising if we can make it for the LEO community. If you're at the SHOT, I'll see you there and put a bug in your ear.

Hmm... an LEO Package - Black HSGI Belt, TACO Pistol Pouches, an oversize TACO for a radio, and maybe even other odd-sized pouches (for items like cuffs and ASPs) is something that might work. I have zero practical experience for this, but the one-size-fits-all might be a hit.

It's my first belt, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. I did a bit of research before buying though, and I can say that this belt has excellent, well thought out construction. Price is great for the features too. I haven't gotten a chance to take it through a class yet, but so far I really like the padded grip that spans the entire inner length of the belt. I've done a few drills and the belt stays put very nicely. No discomfort after wearing it for a while either. Planning to put it through it's paces in a class the first quarter of the new year. I'll report back when I do!

Legal Jargon: HSGI's Riggers Belts are not Labeled or Certified for Climbing or use as Life Saving Equipment. HSGI will not be held responsible for any injuries or death for the misuse of any of our products.

That being said, you have too look at the ratings of the materials used.

Ran the belt this weekend at Falcon Security's Tactical Pistol 1 course and I'm kinda pissed..

Because I'm probably going to be spending much more at HSGI..

For the class, my kit consisted of:
HSGI Belt
$10 super ghetto homemade kydex holster held on by zip ties
Two double USGG Gen4 Pistol Pouches
SF V70

Pistol:
M&P 9mm
F/O FS, Blacked out rear stock sights
Apex RAM
Trigger job
SS Guide rod, 15lb spring
Stippled frame
Three M&P mags with Arredondo baseplates, one standard.

Belt ran absolutely flawless. No sagging, riding up, twisting, or lack of comfort at all. Hundreds of holster draws, mag draws, reholstering, running, etc. No issues whatsoever. Midway through the day, we took a lunch break and a bunch of guys took their belts off because it wasn't too comfortable for them. I didn't even notice mine on. Our class was appx. 17 shooters, 3/4 was LEO. USBP, Sheriffs & local PD mainly, a few civvies. At the end of the day, we had a shoot off which consisted of two shots at a steel plate, 6" wide, 12" tall at 25yds, reload, two more shots. I placed 2nd, but I *did* have the advantage of a modded pistol vs. their duty rigs with level three retention holsters & stock duty pistol triggers.

When I take a rifle class, my kit will consist of:

USGG Triple AR pouch
USGG Double pistol pouch
V70
EAG Dump
Holster

I don't know how much heavier this will be, but I have full confidence that it will hold up just fine. The pistol kit carries some heft already - I figure if 83 rounds total + a pistol on my waist ran well, three 30rd AR mags plus 44 pistol rounds shouldn't be a problem. This was my 2nd pistol class ever, and I can't wait to put this belt through more!

Thanks [BD]

BravoHotel,

I've been wearing HSGI's suspenders for several months now and absolutely love them. When I bought my first pair of suspenders, I had around 17 pounds of gear on my duty belt. I now have closer to 20 pounds. The suspenders are a life saver. My lower back no longer bothers me. I barely notice all that weight until the end of the day, when I gear down. Also, I wear a drop leg holster and a drop leg modular MOLLE panel with a double decker taco and stuffed bleeder pounch (all HSGI... yes, I know I drank the Kool-Aid, but I love this company and their products, lol). So, even with the weight of the belt, plus the weight of the two thigh rigs pulling on the belt, I am very comfortable. I've run, climbed fences, crawled in attics, etc., and the suspenders have yet to fail me. I do wear 3 belt keepers on my duty belt, and attached to my garrison belt, which help to distribute the weight of everything.

Because the HSGI suspenders do not have shoulder pads (which I prefer), I have them set so the straps come over the top of my concealable body armor, and let the armor cushion the weight. I tried suspenders with shoulder pads, but was not happy with the design. I was unable to comfortably shoulder a long gun, and was more bulky than I wanted when wearing a jacket.

Another bonus of the the suspenders is that they act as a drag handle. But, since they're mounted to your belt, there's no plate carrier riding up and choking you as your partners pull you out of harms way.

I hope this helps. Stay safe.

BravoHotel

Ninja-

Great input, thank you. Good to know about the shoulder pads however I'm a civi running 3gun and defensive drills so I think I may consider the pads to help disperse weight.

Thanks again.

One thing I noticed is that they aren't kidding about how thin the belt is. I probably should have ordered a smaller size. The reason I went with a larger size is that my only previous experience with anything like a war belt was a duty belt that I had that ran an ALICE type belt pad on. It required a lot of additional length. I also wanted the padded part of the HSGI belt to come fairly close to the buckles. Finally, I wanted to be able to run the belt over winter gear. HSGI calls attention to the thinness of the belt, which I didn't really appreciate until I got the belt on. It is very thing, and there was nothing like the need for extra length that my previous slapped together belt rig did. So if you are thinking like I did that because you are getting a padded belt you need to order a little extra room, don't. The belt really does have a very gel-like feel that is quite comfortable under load, and I can't believe how great it feels while keeping such a low profile.
I can't believe I waited this long to get a war belt now that I've tried one, but since I have I'm glad I went with HSGI. It easily meets their usual standard of construction and I'm going to be working it out.

Those new plastic pieces on the TACO's look good in this pic.
They are a major improvement and make the TACO a no brainer for guys looking at magazine pouches.
We have taken all the feedback from the past 1.5 years and improved upon the design to bring it to this point.
I just wish there was an easier way to mount em. (We're still working on that one ;-) )

Hey Topher,

What do the "new plastic pieces" do? From the picture, I'm guessing they assist in inserting the magazine into the pouch, but I hate assuming stuff. Also, can a Double Decker TACO be made to hold a rifle mag and two pistol mags (preferably with the pistol mags sitting side by side)? With Stick's positive review of the belt, I'm looking at the possibility of swapping my nylon duty belt out for the HSGI padded belt. Thanks and stay safe.

The new plastic pieces eliminate the possibility of the shock cord popping out of the top loop, they also have feed lips now which aid in insertion of magazines.

Plus we order thousands at a time and they are ready for assembly when they arrive.
Unlike the kydex where we had Edgeworks manufacturing cut the strips for us, then had an employee heat and bend each piece by hand.

This and the 2 new employees dedicated to TACO's has quadrupled our manufacturing capability of TACO's..
We are pushing 250+ TACO's out the door each day, and orders are still flowing in..

As far as a DDT with two PTACO's, its not possible.

I have a number of questions pertaining to the suspender attachment system.

1. What size are the sliders? They appear to be one inch.

2. How is the attachment system connected to the padding/duty belt? Is it sewn in? Can someone provide photos of the attachment points?

3. The rear attachment points appear to be in a good position, however the front pair looks as if they need to be moved closer to the duty belt's buckle.

Recommended improvements:

1. Use FASTEX slide lock buckles for the suspender attachmet points. ITW brand 1.5" LL Female. Dual Ladder Lock female size one and one half inch.

2. Include an attachment point in the front bottom near the duty belt's buckle for a groin armor plate sleeve/pocket.

I'm retired ARMY 27 years 1967-1994. I have worn and used in combat everything from pre ALICE frog keeper belts with the Y harness system to current issue MOLLE and plate vests. This belt system looks like a winner. All you need now is a quality suspender system.

I'm going to purchase one, attach various suspender systems and attach as many SAW pouches as I can then fill them with lead shot. I'll let you know if anything fails and how much weight was required for failure. I'll then eqip it with a standard combat loadout then go do a 20k walkabout through the mountains and swamps of North Central PA. I'll put this thing through the roughest terrain and vegatation I can find.

1" Uni-Loops are BarTacked on to the Belt.

When worn you will see the Front Suspender attachments are in a good position.

Not sure about SRB's for suspender attachment, as the Majority of suspenders attach with 1" webbing only.
