SBR barrel question

I have a custom barrel in mind to mate to a ceiner suppressor.

I want to use a pistol length gas tube with a 10.5" barrel.

shooting 5.56 with an adjustable gas block.

will this work?

Ok, I've just got to ask...If the barrel is 10.5 inches, why do you want a pistol length gas system?

because a standard carbine gas location is too close to the end of the barrel for the suppressor to fit.

I should have included more detail, sorry.

the suppressor is a Ceiner can and it sleeves the barrel by 5 inches, so I need to push the gas port back to clear the can.
