I'm building a Mega MaTen & I've decided on 2 scopes & was hoping you guys could offer some suggestions . The first scope i was looking at is the USOptics SN3 3.2x17 with 35mm tube & 1/4 moa knobs & a MOA scale reticle . This build with all the options I want is gonna run me around $2800 out the door with mounts .The other scope I'm looking at is the Vortex Razor HD 5x20 with the moa reticle . That scope is gonna run me about $2300 with mounts & all the options I want .I know the USOptics scope is amazing and I've had a chance to actually pick it up & look through it , but is there any reason to get the Vortex over the USOptics other than the difference in price ?

If money was no issue, I'd get the USO. If I wanted to save some money, I'd check out the IOR 35mm scopes before the Vortex.

I had the USO in MIL/MIL and a GAP Reticule. Good scope but for the money a S&B is a much better scope. My shooting buddy sold all of his USO scopes for S&B and having shot side by side, there is good reason for doing so. Vortex is not in the same caliber.

I own both IOR and Vortex scopes, have shot with S&B and have had the opportunity to be blinded by the brilliance of a Hensoldt. IOR and USO appear to be in pretty much the same class - which is one level below Schmidt & Bender and Hensoldt / Zeiss. Vortex is a step below (but still quite good) and not proven yet, but they provide a good price point and fabulous customer support.

If money is no objective, get the best so you never have to second-guess your gear. Being able to blame yourself instead of your gear helps you improve :)
