Looks good. At first I thought you did that with templates and was blown away, but still nice outcome.
Would be very interested in how it holds up under use. I've been told they chip off easily compared to the "coats" on the market.

It's actually very durable, it really depends on the materials used. We use the same materials that all the major firearms and bow manufacturers use to camo their stuff. It's all industry standard and is well proven. The prep work before coating has a lot to do with it also. We used Cerakote on the barrel for the heat resistance.
I took a look at your website Jim, you do some beautiful work. This was our first experience with Cerakote, it's a great product and a great company to deal with as well. Thanks for the compliments guys.

Tackdriver,
Appreciate the kind word!

I have not seen the water applied type camo even on factory guns, just heard that once it starts to peel it's an issue.

I can't talk about it yet but there is likely to be some cool options concerning Cerakote and factory camos like RealTree coming out next year if all goes well.

If it happens I'll be sending you sone stuff to coat for a comparison test if you don't mind?

All of the bows on the market that wear camo are done with this process as well as any camo'd gun such as the Remington R25 and other similar rifles. Other companies such as Bushmaster with the ATACS M4 and Ruger use the process as well. Bushnell uses it on there binoculars and other viewing devices. I can't wait to see the Cerakote Camo stuff, would love to do some testing. Just let me know.

Thanks

Will do!

Thanks for not taking my post the wrong way, just trying to educate myself.

Did you do the setup all at once or the scope and rail separate?

Everything is processed individually, this is necessary to manage distortion and stretching in the pattern.

Just checked out your site and videos.. Very cool!

What all can this stuff stick to? What's the prep require?

Would it work well on say rubber coated binos?

Jim, rubber is about the only surface we can't do. Most of the rubbers out there will not hold the base coat or are to soft and flex to much which will eventually crack the finish. Pretty much any hard surface can be coated. On the binoculars, are they rubber overmolded? The reason I ask is because they do make a clear coat that goes over our finish that is a rubberized clear coat. It feels just like a rubber overmold but it is actually clear coat. It's very cool stuff and it's used alot on outdoor stuff. If they are already camo chances are that's what it is. That stuff we can prep and refinish, actual rubber we can't.

They have a black rubber overmold that is very soft. I will likely try Cerakoting but worry that it won't adhere also. Kyrlon might be the only answer on that one.

Last question:
Can you make a pattern from a photo or customer supplied camo?

Yes but.... custom prints can be designed and printed but it is very expensive by the time art work is paid for and tooling up the presses. It's a very hefty investment and is design for very high production settings with a 500 meter minimum order to begin with.
