Thread hijack: what mount is that Aimpoint sitting on?

That's KAC's mount if I'm not mistaken.

Indeed it is the KAC mount.

Since the thread has been hijacked already,
How does the light perform on the side vs the 12 o'clock? I have been considering a X300 or TLR-1 but can't mount it at the 12 and was concerned that mounting it on the side may cast a huge shadow off the opposite side since the light sits so close.

The taper of the MOE handguard puts the light in a 10:00 position, which works well for me. The length of the barrel is what typically causes heavy shadowing, and with this setup its not an issue.

Stickman, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Magpul usually releases first in Black, then FDE, then Foliage, then OD.

I just installed these handguards on a CMMG rifle upper. They are as described above. Nice tight fit, high quality polymer feel. A + would buy another magpul product again. [:)]

You are correct. I doubt they are going to change that any time soon.

Yeah, except with the midlengths. They must have known that I needed foliage to finish a new build, so for the mids the release sequence has been black, FDE and OD, no foliage yet. Grrr.
