A short time ago I decided to switch over wholesale from my Glock 19 which I have been carrying for years to a M&P.

Of course this also meant a needed change in holsters and mag pouches. Like every gun guy I have a small mountain of holsters that for one reason or another I stopped using.

Last year I attended a class that was hosted by Greg Peters of Peters Custom Holsters. That was my first time putting hands on his Spada and it was also when I switched over to his holsters on almost a full time basis.

His designs were well thought out and simple but also much more rugged than some of the others on the market. I have an almost super human ability to break things and yet that original Spada has not cracked, split or caught on fire yet.

With that in mind he was the first person I contacted when I needed some new kydex awesomeness.

At that same class I met Andrew Bawidamann. I had seen some of his prints and t shirts before but I also found out then that he and his brother kicked out some awesome custom knives. After finger banging some of his blades the wife saw that twinkle in my eye and swept in to relieve me of my wallet. (This is why you don't bring the wife to classes with you)

During a break in the class Andrew pulled me to the side and showed a platform he was working on that would allow someone to mount a knife on their gear with much more flexibility than in the past.

He called it the PUP, which stands for PALS Universal Platform. Basically your knife sheath is attached to it and can be adjusted for various angles of cant. It then slips down behind the PALS webbing on a vest, chest rig, belt, etc.

Fast forward to a couple weeks ago and Greg sent me a message asking me to call him. I figured on him hitting me with a few WV jokes about us chasing goats or our cousins and I would throw a few back his way about how most OH drivers could compete in the driving events for the Special Olympics.

With that out the way he asked how I would feel about not only trying out my holster with the PUP system but also have Andrew do a custom paint job on it. I had aready been interested in the PUP since that previous year so I said yes. As for the paint job, well if you haven't seen the work of Mr. Bawidamann then go check it out (http://www.bawidamann.com/). The man is a great artist and if he wanted to throw paint at my holster then I was all about it.

When the package showed up I was more than pleased. The holster was flat out sexy as hell.

The PUP made it very simple to install the holster on my belt. In the past I have either had to use a drop holster off of the inner belt or modify the belt loops on other holsters to work with the MOLLE.

Both of those options have their downfalls. This setup allows a perfect fit on the belt (compared to flattening out belt loops on other hosters which were still bowed out) and the holster is pure PCH quality that we come to expect.

During the draw the holster stays put without any slop due to the mounting hardware and there is a distinct audible and tactile "click" when holstering the pistol.

This holster will be getting thrashed in very short order while I beat on it and use it in some upcoming classes. I have no doubt however that it will stand up to whatever abuse I sling its way.

I met Andrew and Greg at the SHOT and needless to say, got to play with their toys. I used several of Greg's holster and found them to be sturdy and comfortable. I watched Greg and Andrew adjusting and modifying holsters on the spot and admired their thinking on their feet.
