Awesome write-up! Which chamber spec do you prefer? I have no experience with 6.8, so I'm just curious.

The 1:11" Twist with the SPCII Chamber. I'd prefer it have the Polygonal Rifling, Ratchet Rifling, 5R, or 4-Grooves. The 6-Groove is Ok, but not the best. The SAAMJ Chamber is not ideal for the 6.8.

Paulo what about Noveske's chamber, he lists it as a Mod 1 chamber with 0.100" freebore - is this more freebore than a SAAMI spec chamber, and can his barrels shoot the SSA Tactical loads?

For all intensive purposes, the noveske is basically the SPCII. Noveske barrels are definitely some of the best on the market and can handle all of the hot loads.

I was toying around with the idea of a 6.8 SBR a while ago but it never materialized.

In your opinion, what would be the ideal barrel length if you wanted to build a shorty?
