I currently attending a conference for work and I stopped at a booth for B.E. Meyers. Among other things (IZLIDS) they had flash supperssors they manufacture in 5.56, 7.62, and .50 cal. The design is a four prong with serations on the inside of the prongs. The overall length is 2.75" and the weight is 2.5 oz. Not sure what it is made of but the finish seemed to be on par with the surfire muzzle devices I have seen. The rep said they had initially teamed with surefire to make these devices but that fell thru. The rep said the going rate for civilian sales is $120 for the 5.56 version. I didn't have a camera but below is the link to the sales sheet. I thought this was interesting and haven't seen it talked about much. Anyone have any experience with these? Also any idea what the practical benefits the serations create?

Apologize in advance if this is old news

Could the serrations be threading for a BFA type plug?

They are effective flash hiders. They also make a distinctive harmonic sound when the rifle is fired.

Bravo,

Thanks for the feedback, looks pretty nice on your rifle also.

I went back and talked to the BE Myers guys today and asked about the serations. I was informed that this disrupts the gas bubble and aids in expelling the gas out of the tines before it can ignite any unburnt powder. He claimed that during testing they trid with and without the serations and the result was a 20% decrease in flash with the serations.
