Question on CH [Archive] - Weapon Evolution

My CH scrapes my lower receiver (right behind where the CH is when it's locked forward) when I use it... after a couple of pulls, I see two white streaks along where the CH's vertical surfaces are, which is a pretty good sign it's scraping.

Why would this be happening? Adams Arms upper and Noveske lower.

I believe this is normal. Mine do this.

A bit of lube helps, but the wear is normal. As long as there isn't any binding or an unusually tight fit that affects the function, don't sweat it.

Does it look similar to this?

Not as bad as that, Eric, as I try to oil the bottom of the CH, but yeah in that spot.

I also smell something burning when I rack the CH, but I think that's just friction between the CH and lower finishes.

As Eric noted, this wear is normal. It will vary though from weapon to weapon.

The burning smell is the result of the friction between anodized parts.
