Just got a new sig 516 friday and going to install the mbus sights on her. Wanted to know if I can mount the front sight on the gas block rail or not. Sorry if this is a dumb questions but this is my first AR and don't know much about them but trying to learn thanks for you help.

No. The heat from the gas block is more than the polymer sights can take and will melt them.

I'm pretty sure Magpul specifically says not to mount the front sight on a railed gas block.
