trouble installing rail system

I just got a DD free float rail to replace my rra free float. when i tighten the barrel nut it only tightens the barrel not the part the rail bolts to. Is there a deeper lug i can get to secure both or a different barrel?

If it is a DD Lite rail... the barrel nut will not tighten anything but the barrel. The bolt up plate will move around freely until bolted up to the rail itself. Just be sure the counter bored side is facing the muzzle and you should be good to go. Once it is all bolted up it will be rock solid. I just installed a 14" rail last week and was skeptical about things tightening up too. I cannot speak about the other Daniel Defense rails. Good luck!

yea its a dd lite rail 9", and thanks that worked. i dont know why i didn't try that was just to worried about it being loose i guess. good to go now, appreciate it
