I made a reply in the other thread more as an idea than as anything else. Do you think its possible to make something similar out of small baggies and a food coloring thin gelatin mixture? I can see a value in this for training, kind of like the balloons in the box, but the price needs to be much more realistic.

It seems like the purpose of the target is obvious, because it looks like blood.

But the practical application doesn't seem to be there, most of the GSWs I have seen haven't really bled that much. Obviously, they all bleed in a different manner. But in a defense situation, the presence of blood wouldn't be a deciding factor in whether I chose to continue shooting.

For me, given the cost, the squeeze really isn't worth the juice.

I watched a documentary over snipers not too long ago. Some of the marines featured had targets that would heavily mist red for several seconds. It didn't actually show, but it appeared to be cans of red spray paint taped to the back of the silhouettes heads.

I saw that as well. There was also one with targets that had "hostages", and the shoot target had a red can of spray paint, whereas the don't shoot had another color.
