Hello all. I picked an M&P45 going on 3 weeks ago now. Today was the first chance I had to get out to the range with it. I haven't shot anything larger than 9mm in many years and being this gun was new to me and I had zero range time with any M&P I was a little concerned how I'd shoot with it the first time out. So I grabbed a box of Speer Lawman 230Gr. TMJ and hit the range. I put a total of 50 rnds. through the gun today and was very impressed. I found I need to get to the range more and work on, focusing on my sight picture and trigger control. However the M&P45 shot flawlessly. I would say it shoots better than me by far. I found it to be extremely controllable and very accurate. This gun may now be my favorite handgun in my small collection. I can't wait to get to the range again with it. But all in all I don't think I shot to bad today for my 1st time out with a new gun.
The 2 targets below were shot at 8yrds.

It's taken S&W a while to get a solid entry in the polymer framed duty pistol arena, but the M&P pistols are now commonly seen in LE holsters. Only a guess, but I bet they are second in current LE sales, with Glock still far ahead. The M&P fits the hand well for most folks. They are priced reasonably, reliable and accurate.

Thanks for the report.

We've had those our duty handguns since they came out. Great guns. I use the largest strap that it comes with. Very accurate and comfortable to shoot.

My M&P 45 had a horrendous trigger out of the box. After a 1000 rounds I grew to really like the pistol... and mastering that terrible trigger improved my trigger control across the board. I ended up selling it to pay some bills. Back to carrying the old G22 again.
