Had it for about 3 weeks now and love it. I went with Sig to be different. I am very pleased not only with the quality, but the craftsmanship to.

Came with a Sig hard case, soft case and a Pmag insted of the aluminum one shown on their website

Ha ha! I see you found my pictures! Pictures 3 through 8 are ones I took of my M400. No problem. If you hadn't posted them, I would have. The M400 is great . I bought one at the same time I bought a Colt LE6920MP-R.

Immediately, out of the box, the Sig was better finished than the Colt. The Colt had several dings on it that left silver showing through - as if some ham-handed assemblyman put it together with a meat mallet. (No problem though, they aren't that deep and a Sharpie fixed them up. They ought to ship them with a Sharpie.) I know some people don't care about fit and finish. "It's a tool man, it's a tool, don't worry, it's a tool." Yeah, whatever. It's my dime and I expect some level of care in assembly. It's one thing to apply a half-assed finish to a gun, it's another thing to have it damaged in assembly. Colt needs to step up their game in that department. It's hardly the first time I've been disappointed in that respect by Colt. Colt could take a lesson from Sig, here.

The upper/lower tightness on the Sig was FAR superior to the Colt. The Sig has absolutely no play between the upper and lower. There is slop in the Colt. No problem, I fixed the slop in the Colt with a (gasp!) Accuwedge. I've heard all the bull about accuwedges and that they do nothing, damage guns, cause holes to wear or get larger. Its nonsense. They may not improve accuracy, but they do improve consistency, which is important, too. On top of that, slop perpetuates. It is play that causes holes to wear larger. Slop doesn't heal. It only gets worse. The military acknowledges that. Guns wear out. Accuwedges slow that wear. I've heard they deteriorate "cuz they're rubber." They are actually PVC plastic and stand up well to solvents, just like the plastic bottles those solvents come in. Replace them every so often, and they are no problem at all. At a $1.50 a piece, there is no excuse for not replacing them when they start to loose their effectiveness. But back to the Sig, the device in the lower works well. There is no up/down or side/side play. It just plain works. Again, give this one to the Sig.

The Colt, of course, has the M16 bcg, where as the Sig has an AR-15 bcg. Even so, the Sig bc has a fully shrouded firing pin, and there is sitll a lot of beef at the rear of the carrier. It isn't trimmed down nearly as much as many other ARs. Neither the Sig bolt nor the barrel are MP marked. Everything that is chromed on the Colt is chromed on the Sig.

I got my Sig for $900 and my Colt for $1125. I got the Sig because I like Sig, have quite a few, and have had, on the rare occasions I've had to use it, good expereinces with their CS. I also wanted something a bit different. Except for the little details, namely the MP marked bolt and barrel, which some say are crucial to prevent your gun from being labeled "crap," it compares very nicely to the Colt, and exceeds it in some areas.

Here are some shots of the BCG, along side a Colt BCG, for comparison...

Colt left, Sig right. Colt is MP marked. Sig is not. Sorry for crappy photo.
